The last few days I've been having a strange feeling in my throat, kind like its swollen or something. Its not painful and I used a mirror and don't see in inflammation or anything like that. At first I thought it was allergies but now I'm not so certain. I tried to narrow it down but the only common denominator between these days has been vaping.

I've been vaping everyday for months and this is the first time this has happened and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I've been using two DCT with SmokTech Cartos, which is what I've been using for months, with 30/70 PG/VG juice. I've using this setup for about a week and a half and I've only been feeling like this for the last 2-3 days.

If anyone knows if this is a common occurrence please share, just hoping its the elm in the air but maybe its something in this carto.

I haven't seen that mentioned here much.

Don't know if this will be in any way helpful (maybe not), but about 3 months into vaping I had that (plus a number of other really bad things) going on. Finally had to see a Dr and turns out my thyroid decided to take a dump. It's in the family and I knew it was coming eventually though. Still have that almost choking/gagging feeling and it comes and goes. My thought is that the inflammation does as well and that's why it's not constant.

For me it had nothing to do with vaping, and more to do with quitting smoking (I guess it's pretty common).

Try drinking more water, it could also be the VG content. I notice much more *ahem* mucous buildup when I vape high VG for long periods. Take some anti-inflammatory like Advil, see if that helps.

Could be allergies, you could try some benadryl.

You've been vaping for months. So, it's not vaping in general.

DCT with SmokTech Cartos for months. So, it's not those.

30/70 PG/VG juice? Is that what you've been using for a week and a half? If so, It could be that. It may have taken several days to have an effect. But, not sure. After all, a week is a long time to take to react.

It's probably either dehydration or allergies. You can always experiment with drinking more water or with changing up your PG/VG ratios.

I know with me it's always allergies. But, even my allergies aren't as bad as they used to be before I started vaping.

You'll probably just have to do some more '"whittling down". Start with the water and if that doesn't help, try 50/50 juice (that's my main vape).

I don't think you need to worry that it's the vaping itself that's causing it. Just something specific that you're dealing with. Good luck figuring it out! It took me literally 3 months of trying everything to discover my issue. Hopefully for you it is something really simple to fix. :)

Will do and thanks again.

If I have too much VG in my juice I get more congestion in my lungs and my sinuses.
And that leads to an almost constant need to clear my throat of the buildup that seems to accumulate there.

For this reason I won't do anything with more than 50% VG, but even that is too much.
I prefer 70/30 mixes, and only go with 50/50 if it is a juice that I can't live without.

Does it feel like you have a lump in your throat, or a little scratchy? It could be tonsil stones (if you don't know what this is, it's even more likely the case). Google it, youtube it, and then get a small flashlight and some form of instrument to poke around with (I use a metal pimple popper, but you may want to use the back end of a toothbrush or something). I think that the moisture sucking properties of vaping could be drying out the cavities in the tonsils, and any stones in them become less lubricated and more irritating.

If it's the case, life will never be the same from this point on.

OP I'm pretty sure it's vaping. It started happening to me ever since I started vaping. Throat and mouth swelling, if I blow out of my nose my nasal passages swell almost shut. The more I vape the worse it is. One night last weekend I got obliterated and was vaping like a madman, and for the last week my stomach hasn't been quite right.like I feel food kinda coming back up my throat or something. This stuff never happened before I started vaping. I read about the effects of nicotine and it can cause like muscle laziness or depression or something like that. You know your own business best, don't let people here tell you it's all in your mind

If you find out, let me know. I am having the exact same issue. I have tried a few different pg/vg combinations, with no relief. I have not smoked an analog in 30 days since I have been vaping. I don't want to stop now and sure would like to figure this out. I am going to try a lower nic strength to see if that helps. I'm on 18 mgs now. I have no idea if nic strength has anything to do with it, but I will try anything.
