Hey guys, I got this absinthe liquid in 80/20, colored it with PG food coloring. So, basically, it doesn't vape right. All my other 80/20 juices at the same wattage put out great amounts of vapor, all comparable, and when I inhale the absinthe for just a second, I get... puff. Almost nothing. So, this usually wouldn't concern anyone, I guess, but I'm wondering if this means I'm not getting the same nicotine? I'm using a Protank on a vision spinner, if that helps.

But why would you add Food Coloring?

yeah you could very well be vaping carcinogens buddy. thats why theres no green and blue juices out there.. and the few that there are, are done by professionals that have done a ton of research. It sounds like youve diluted your liquid with the food coloring. Or you could very well have changed the chemical structure of your PG/VG by adding whatever chemical was used for the green food coloring. That is not safe. We dont do that. Definitely ask before modifying your e-liquid like that man, it could be very dangerous for your lungs.

I never added food coloring, it might dilute the juice a little resulting in slightly less nicotine if you could get it to vape. That is the other thing, have you tried the same liquid in other delivery system with the same results? And have you used other liqiuds in the Protank that has the mean green it in with good results.

I gather you didn't add a ton of food coloring, not sure why it would stop it from making good vapor, but I guess if your not getting vapor you probably aren't getting much nic either. I admit it, I am puzzled.

Yeah, it was a couple of drops.

Guys, the food coloring is perfectly safe. It's nothing but green dye and PG - which would be carcinogenic in my stomach, as well as my lungs. And green cake doesn't kill people. If they ate green cake. Which most people don't. But, y'know, yeah.

I haven't tried my 510 atty yet, that's a good idea. As for adding green to anything else, I don't have any other liquids that need greenified, haha.

Relatively early in my vaping experience I got the bright idea to make my clear Grape flavor purple colored. I bought some food coloring and followed the directions to make purple. Lo and behold it turned the juice green.

Needless to say, it ruined the cartomizer in the tank and I ended up throwing that tankful of juice out. Lesson learned, my friend. Lesson learned.

I'm wondering if the coloring might be rapidly gunking the coil, maybe?

Hell, I don't care if I ruined the juice, I just need to know why it's doing this.
I'm quite certain the food coloring clogged my cartomizer. It acted like a flooded cart with an extremely stiff pull when I tried to vape it. The filler acted like a filter and sucked up all the coloring...it was not a pretty site when I examined the inside of the carto.

My guess the same thing is happening to the string wicks of you clearomizer.

...

If you want to put Green Dye in your e-Liquids, Don't let Me stop you.

But think about this... How many people do you know that eat Green Cake every Hour of the Day? Every Day of the Week? And what if they weren't Eating it, they were Inhaling it. Inhaling Green Dye.

Now say they got Sick or got some Rare Form of Cancer would you think that that is Normal?

Or would you say, "Well Duh, what did you think was going to happen from Inhaling Green Dye that was Never Meant to be Inhaled?"

Like I said before, do whatever you think is Best.

But know that something that is "Safe" to eat doesn't mean it is "Safe" to Inhale.

Good point. But for all we know inhaling PG and VG every single day could be unsafe, too. Hypothetically, it isn't, the same way dye is. Some people say the dye is vaporized and recolors the lungs, but being exhaled vapor is white, I believe the coloring is boiled away, leaving you with PG and slight bits of water.

At the very least, not doing it again, I had green stains on my hands for days.

And then there's always Pluid. :D

There must have been a good reason that Taster Vapor removed the green dye from their popular Ecto Plasma. (vendor's name was mispelled intentionally)

AFAIK, people hate color juice, generally, and it ...... enough people off for them to remove it. Happened to a bunch of places; it's why FuZion offers a no color option.

There are a lot of colored juices on the market. The ones that have gone away from coloring did so to join AEMSA.

AEMSA may have played a Small Roll in a Few Retailers not Adding Colorants to their e-Liquids.

But I believe that the Overwhelming reason is because Consumers do not see Any Compelling Need and Do Not Want Retailers adding Colorants.
