Weird problem

Ok, so I'm on my 4th week of vaping and have just encountered a weird problem that I can't figure out.

510 with 4 atomizers, 4 batteries, and a USB pass through. I noticed that three of my atomizers were clogged, so I gave them a soak in alcohol and then boiled them. I then took out a brand new atomizer and started vaping away.

After 3 days of vaping on the new atomizer, it stopped producing vapor. I put on one of the cleaned atomizer and it produced vapor like brand new..... for about a day.. and now it only produces until I top off my cart.

If I used compressed air and blow the atomizer out from the battery end and then reattach the cart, it produces vapor like crazy for a while, but as soon as I top off.. nothing

Ideas? I thought maybe it was the juice that I got from Vape Ape, but it wasn't.. it seems to be any juice that I use. I'm really starting to get frustrated!

Help??

I've done the dripping method and that immediately floods it.

I've cleaned the carts and have used both the poly and the PTB. 3 drips in the cart is enough to cause the atomizer to not produce vapor. 1 drop using the dripping method is enough to cause there to be no vapor..

It's really weird..

Could 2 drops be the magic number for you. Different droppers from different manufactures make larger/smaller drops. Maybe try this: Pin Point Oil Dispenser - DSP it makes very small drops. And is great for filling carts from the bottom up.

Actually.. what I just noticed by not putting the cart on.. the outer metal of the atomizer is not getting as hot as it normally does. Usually if I were to hold the button down for, say, 5 seconds.. the metal around the atomizer would be too hot to put my lips to.. but now, it just gets warm..

......now I'm confused

I'm now confused too... Is this the new atty or one of the one's you have cleaned? Do you have a can of compressed air? Blow out the new one which is not working for you now. Put in 2 drops wait a couple of minutes and try it again. Really sounds like you are flooding your attys as Jim has told you.

this is one that I've cleaned.. it was working beautifully up until this morning.

Yeah, I've hit it with compressed air quite a few times today.. both from the battery end and the cart end.

In the past when I've flooded an atty, it makes kind of a bubbling/crackling sound when I take a drag and the pull is much harder than normal.. in this instance, I'm getting none of that.. and I've just vaped continuously without putting any drops on the atty and leaving the cart off.. same thing

It just seems like the atty isn't getting hot enough to vaporize the juice.. but don't know why.

Argh!!

Ok.. I soaked it in almost boiling water.. blew air through it while it was in the water.. pulled it out.. blew through it more until it was dry.. dripped one drop directly into it.. waited.. puffed.. and vapor!

.......for about a minute. Now it's completely dead. Doesn't get hot and when you press the button and listen, there's no sizzling going on.

Crap. This is the only one I brought to work!#$!%$!@

...I waited 5 minutes, tried it again because I'm desperate.. and it sizzled and vaped for a minute.. now no sizzle or vapor again..

wth is going on with this thing??

Is your battery manual or auto. If auto blow it out too.

Here's my reasoning for trying to get you to concentrate on the newer atty that you have not boiled:

I have seen alot of threads saying: "I boiled my attys, and now none of them work like before". I am guessing it has something to do with the fibers in the metal mesh wicking of the atty. I assume them to be fiberglass. Some say acrylic. If they are infact some kind of plastic, boiling could be damaging them and making them not work as intended. Different manufacturers could be using different wicking materials too. We don't know.

Good thought AGNES;
Depending on the Viscosity (Thickness) of the juice, a drop will vary in size. I hadn't thought of that until you mentioned it. Thanks.

I haven't got a handle on your problem yet, but be careful. A 5 second burn may be pushing the envelope a bit. You don't want to burn it out.

I think they all are. I've seen posts where attys consistently last a week or two and posts where they last months. I have two that I've had since March. I've run a cycle in the hydro sonic twice and left upside down over night prolly once a month. That's all the cleaning I do. I'm paranoid about one dying on me and always carry a spare in my glove box and extra atty and bat in my carry case...and usually my pass through since i have adapter for the cig lighter in my car. Good luck. I feel for you stuck at work without :(

I'm all sorts of confused.. if I hold down the button for longer than normal, I get some vapor.. but it's really as if it's unable to heat up to a proper temperature.. which I don't think is a result of flooding, because even the flooded atty's I've used produce vapor.. they just complain and leak.

So, I'm not sure..

The best part, though, will be when I get home and screw on a new atty and take the first drag.. I'm salivating just thinking about it.

Also! The atomizer I'm using is one of the new 30,000 5 second puff ones (wider gold band).. which either means it's defective, or I've hit this thing 30,000 times in the span of a week

And, you're right.. I should be carrying a backup and I usually do.. but my others are at home drying from their bath and I figured this one was so new, I wouldn't have to worry about it.

I hate being wrong.
