Hello!

I've had some friends who use a E-cig and I was interested in purchasing one myself. They told me what website they got it from and I checked it out and it didn't really seem ...well... professionally done. I seemed kind of hesitant of using my credit card on there so I decided to do some research on other websites. I'm really looking forward to buying one but I can't seem to decide what website to purchase from. Research is fun!

Welcome TeamSwish! You didn't specify which site you tried, but you can look thru the suppliers forums and pick a good one from there. And lots of info here on what to get if you're unsure. It takes a bit of research to find a good starting setup, but is worth your time to do some reading both about various brands/types and finding a reliable source. Good luck and feel free to ask if you have any questions

The website where my friends bought theirs was from Rocky Mountain Vapor....After I did some research I decided I didn't want to deal with the liquids and the filling. This morning I went to Blu and I had my credit card out to get a starter kit but I held back for some reason. Looking at Apollo now. I'm more than willing to hear some recommendations from people on here while I decide.

I would still consider the ones with the liquid and filling as well. I think the one aspect I am looking for the most is the amount of vapor on the exhale. Yeah sounds kinda funny.

Not at all. The standard recommendation on here is the Riva 510 kit on Liberty Flights. It's more cigar sized than cigarette sized but, you won't be tied to a charger which gets old fast. Along with it, get some standard (not LR) Boge cartomizers and a drip tip. That won't cost a lot more and you'll have lots of options to find what you like.

You're going to have to mess with juice. Freedom Smokes USA is a good choice for that. You don't know what you like or what your nic needs are yet. Get a variety of juices in a variety of nic levels. You want vapor so get at least 30% or higher VG.

I just went through what you are talking about, I chose an EGO with cartomizers for the same reasons I think you are thinking about. My main goal is to give up on analogs, cost was and secondary.

It only took me a week to figure out (with the help of this group) how #1 easy and #2 cost effective it is to refill cartomizers.

I have some prefilled tobacco flavored cartos that were pretty harsh tasting (to me), it is amazing what a few drops of black cherry added do for the taste!.

IMO - do not buy at random sites that ARE professionally done. Most of those are the biggest liars and ripoffs. When i see "testimonials" and "24-hour live help" I cringe. Some people have been ripped off horribly. many charge $40-50 for a battery that should cost $15 (and one charges $119), some sell crappy models or models that are incompatible with any of the reasonably priced parts the multibrand vendors sell, and some purposely sell carts that are harder to refill.

The best sites we use here are not slick looking. And we know what model we are really buying and where else we can get supplies for it etc. Some good ones:
Cignot.com
Liberty-Flights.com
LiteCigUSA.net

One slick-looking reliable site - Vapor4Life.com (note that they have batteries under $20, sell blank carts, sell juice, don't claim a cart lasts as long as a pack of cigs). Their model is KR808D-1, the most popular 2-piece threading

I recommend 510 threading (510, 510 w/ mega xl batteries, or fat battery models Riva 510 or Ego) or KR808D-1 threading (plain KR808D-1, Vapor4Life, of fat battery models Pigcig or Elegant Easy)

And I recommend manual batteries. Autos can be killed by juice drips on the end of the battery and many can turn on accidentally from wind or vibration.

Haven't heard anything good about blu, but I haven't tried them myself... Any good 510 system will give plenty of future options, in terms of cartomizers, tanks, atomizers etc...the ego sized batteries are larger than a cig...more like a cigar size, but the extended battery life is a nice feature, and they are threaded to fit 510 components...do some more reading before you buy...

Wow.

Sitting here enjoying some coffee flavored vaping. I have to say I am very pleased. I ordered Saturday from cigeasy and I received on Monday....and that's from California to Michigan. I'm stunned it was that fast. My girlfriend kinda laughed at me when I said I was going to get a starter kit and I have to say she enjoys it as well. I haven't fully given up on analogs but I foresee that coming in the future. I'm probably down by half.

I got red bull, coffee and menthol and I enjoyed all of them with red bull as the favorite. I got the menthol for my girlfriend as I had a sneaky suspicion that she would want to try it as well. I have some Dr Pepper eLiquid that I have not tried yet.

I'm very happy with my purchase.

Congratulations, TeamSwish! It sounds like you've gotten a good start. Make sure you have spares of everything, batteries, atomizers/carts, atomizers. If there are 2 of you using them, I'd suggest at least 2 chargers as well. The last thing you want is to be forced to smoke analogs because you ran out or something malfunctioned.

Having said that, though, don't stress too much about the analogs, a lot of folks just get into the vaping and sort of fall into giving up the analogs. The less stress you put on yourself the easier it will be. And the first couple of weeks or so are always the hardest, both because of coming off all those chemicals, and because you're still trying to find what works for YOU as far as equipment, nic level and of course, flavors.

Its a real adventure, but you've got a good start! BTW, be sure to check out MistressNomad's videos (stickied at the top of the forum). She's got some great tips and advice, and if I recall, she uses the same PV you've got.

Her videos are here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-videos-newbies-particular-broke-newbies.html
