Loveridden, here's an idea I've been using for a while now. It all came from trying an expensive no-suds "conditioning cleanser" (WEN.....a rip-off IMHO) which made me realize I could use any old conditioner the same way.
Just use any (cheap, expensive, doesn't matter) conditioner as a replacement for shampoo when you wash your hair. I do this every other time I wash my hair.....or more. Even if your scalp is a little oily (like mine) it still works because the oils in the conditioner dissolve the oils in your scalp: the old rule that "like dissolves like".
My hair is fine textured and in no way does this make it oily or limp. It's far shinier too, because the natural oils on the length of the hair aren't stripped as often as with sudsing shampoo.
I've also heard of using mayonnaise - probably because of the oil in it.
Just get to the local dollar store and get a bottle of Suave or Vo5 or whatever and try it! It's cheaper than mayonnaise and smells better.
......I should have moved this discussion over to the chat
thread......sorry,
mods!
