I was going to post this pic, that I'm so proud of, but it's going to be an obituary pic instead. My VVG died today.

I noticed after I first received it that it wouldn't fire with every press of the button but I just chalked it up to a quirk of this particular Reo. A few minutes ago it stopped firing at all. I tried three different pairs of batteries and no go. The spring looks fine and I tried both my RM2 and my RM3, no go. Thank goodness I have my mini as backup!

I know there are options but I'm not sure what they are exactly. I can have it modded into a mechanical correct? Are there other options I need to consider?

TIA!

(sigh) I feel for ya, I really do.

Rob (I believe) doesn't service the regulation controller in the unit, but I have heard of him converting these into fully mechanicals. Prolly best to PM him to solicit options.

Hehe, Rob almost beat you in replying! Thanks Papa L. :)

Lesson learned! I checked everything but my battery charger! The one bay on my charger is used for charging only 18350's so I don't have to fiddle as much with the spacers, and guess what's not working? Yep! I figured this out today when I went to test some juice in my eBaron/Provari with an 18350!

Yes!! I really didn't want to loose the VVG!

I have a VVGrand (got it early January 2013) and always meter batteries before putting them in. I've found often one battery will be one-hundreth off, like one meters 4.20 and the other 4.19. So then I put the 4.19 on the bottom and the 4.20 on the top. I also check them when I take them out before putting them on the charger to be sure I didn't let them discharge too low.

But if/when mine dies, I'm just going to have it converted to a mech. :)

Provari's are built like tanks and do what they are made to do very well, but when they die there is no option to convert them into mechanicals. This Reo has gotten the green light to get converted and as superx would say, it's gonna be bad AYuss! :D

No need to convert a ProVari... for $65 ProVape with replace the board in them with the latest version, with very fast turn-around time and it will have a warranty on it. I rarely use any of my 5 anymore, went back to mech's... but they are a tank.

No VOM, check your batts in your ProVari until you get a VOM. I have a Fluke VOM, but seldom use it. Have 2 batt chargers now with the XTar WP2 II that came with my Reo Mini... but my other one I've used for about 18 months now is an Efest LUC Smart Charger. With the LCD screen it doesn't leave any doubt what the batt condition is when put in, while charging, when charged. Mines a 2 bay, they have a 4 bay too now and each bay is monitored independantly.

ETA: Glad to hear your VVG is OK.
