My story begins as many of yours. Back in January, on a whim I got a free trial offer of e-cigs off the net not knowing if they would work or not. But I wanted to give it a try. I could not believe that it did indeed work and after 21 years of smoking I could go day after day without a cigarette. I also found this forum which has been a tremendous help and guide.

Here is where it gets interesting. I have two Tornado batteries and one Hello 016 battery that are in the rotation. Two weeks ago my new Hello 016 battery failed. I was in the process of getting a warranty replacement when one of the Tornado batteries failed. That same night my other Tornado battery failed. The light button actually pushed in to the battery housing. So, now I am starting to panic, but i have some older 401 batteries that had been retired.

After a restless night, I decided to see how long I could go without pulling out the 401's. I couldn't believe it! I had no withdrawl whatsoever over the next 12, 24, or 48 hours. I now have not vaped in 2 weeks. I guess I am done with smoking and vaping. (I'm a little disappointed about the vaping part cause I really enjoyed it.) I was looking forward to posting my one-year no smoking anniversary in January, but still be vaping. (I still will post the anniversary). Had all my batteries not failed I would still be vaping.

I had gradually reduced the nic to 12mg and also used a pg doubler sometimes. So I guess that over a 6 month period I had weened myself off of nicotine without even knowing it.

I have really enjoyed this forum and will still keep up with it.

I will be posting this weekend in the classifieds so keep checking. That Hello 016 I had replaced has never been used. In addition I have 11 brand new 510 LR atty's.

Don't doubt the efficacy of the e-cig as a quit smoking device.

Vape on my friends!

David

I've gone a few days without vaping and a few of those times, I just didn't think about it.
But, yes, I continue on. Even if I did quit altogether, I'd keep a PV around.
In past years, I've managed to quit smoking for months at a time and something, other smokers or crises, tempted me back.
NOT going to happen this time.

I do congratulate you!!!

Consider me your recycling center for Njoy Pro, Smoking Everywhere Gold, Cloud 9, Smoke 51 Trio, and DSE103 useless batteries.
Other hardware if it’s still usable.
Those I loan out to/give to thank you.

I bet you had no withdrawal because the only significant chemical in e juice is pure nicotine. Not hundreds of chemicals like plutonium, ammonia, arsenic, etc... in regular smokes.

Good job. Its an achievement vaping or not.

haha plutonium, ya know i wouldnt doubt those tobacco companies would do that along with some depleted uranium and the fda would probably allow it.

Congrats! I figure that when the time comes to quit vaping, I'm just going to make sure I have a charged unit around somewhere and some juice in the fridge. I know my "addiction voice" well - the one that says things like "you should try it just to see what the big deal was" - and I don't want that voice to think about analogs. I anticipate that little voice saying "So why'd you like that spearmint so much anyway?"

Don't feel bad... people go right back to smoking after years free of it because they think "just one" won't start 'em back up .... it's interesting to watch, really .. and bad of course
