Well, I did it. First mod, went big, didn't go home.

My credit card is cowering in the corner, flinching every time I make the slightest movement. I've been looking for a new mod. I'd originally planned on getting the two NoEgos because they looked really nice and would have much better battery life -- and be true 3.7v devices. I even bought a pair of 14650s and 18650s from MadVapes in preparation. But lately I've been looking at others, considering maybe a 5V mod or even a VV. I mean, the NoEgos are nice, but how much better would the experience be? And I'd still lust after HV and VV mods down the road, right?

So, after much thought and juggling of finances, I did it. I ordered a ProVari, plus the extended cap (might as well, have the batteries), some extra IMR batteries, eGo adapter, and a bottle of Noalox. (If I'm gonna spend this kinda money on a PV, I'm gonna take care of it!)

I've no idea how long it's going to take to get here (all it says on the site is "current wait time: 2 weeks or less" which isn't very helpful) but I'm already preparing to stalk the mailman. But damn am I excited to get my hands on it!

You gonna put the no-ego's up when you get the provari
just sayin

I was only deciding on getting the NoEgos, I didn't actually buy them. When it came time to decide on what to buy, I decided against the NoEgos and went with the ProVari.

I do have a pair of 14650s I no longer need now, though...

+ 1 for you. Life is short....vape hard on the edge.

Exactly. And I figured, if I'm going to do it, I might as well do it right. :)

Congrats, so many times I wimp out and get by with cheap stuff. Sometimes you just gotta treat yourself. Way to go!

I'm often the same way, thinking hey, it's cheap but better than what I have now. But then I always want the next best thing and I never feel satisfied with what I have. I figured, if I'm going to do this, I should just bite down and go hard. My finances are going to be whimpering for a paycheque or two ... or three ... but what the hell. This is the PV. I can't see needing anything else.

Congrats and vv is bound to be a great option as it allows you to dial in both your equipment and your juice. I plan on adding one to my arsenal one of these days.

Thanks! Yeah, that's really what this is all about, make every vape as good as it can be. To be honest just I'm tired of juices that I know have potential fall kind of flat on my eGo, even on DCCs and LRs. I want to be able to crank it up when it needs cranking, and VV is the only way to go.

I'm already stoked to get this, but I know I'll have to be patient, as I'm probably in for a couple week wait at least.

Been wanting to ask this a long time, but what is Noalox for and why do I need it?

As was mentioned, it lubes your threads, and also protects against oxidation and grit getting into the threads and munging up the works. If you're going to shell out for the good stuff, you might as well do what you can to keep it good.

I have to ask, why are VV mods so much better?

Some atomizers and cartomizers -- even LRs and DCs -- don't really come into their true potential until you're up above 4V. From what I hear by those who have tested it, the SmokTech dualies really shine at around 4.5V. More to the point though, the ability to vary the voltage based on the cartos/atties you're using lets you dial in the voltage that makes flavour and TH of the juice you're vaping really come through in a way that smaller PVs may not be able to do. In short, it lets you get the best out of every carto, atty and juice you have to your own personal liking.

You will like the provari. I don't use mine often, I use ego's most of the time. BUT the provari or similar devices are such a handy thing to have in your vape gear. Testing ohms and trying out new and different cartos is a breeze when you have one. It's not my main pv but I would buy another if I lost it. 2 weeks or less phssst. I had to wait a little over a month!

This is definitely going to be my main vape. I know it's a bit unwieldy to tote around, but I really don't mind. If it lets me get the best out of my juices and cartos I'll bea happy-... camper.

I will not, however, be a happy-... camper if it takes them a month to build mine. I'll be an anxious-... camper with no fingernails and possibly no hair.

I did the same - although instead of a ProVari (which I was considering), I opted for a SweetVapes Grip vv bottomfeeder.

Unlike your pain, though, I get to see Brad (the owner) post in-progress pics of my mod being built, which I think is worse - I can see it, but know it'll still be a while before it is in my hands.

Ah well. Back to the Echo for now.

Noalox lubes your threads.
A thread lube that also improves conductivity a little on metal mods
As was mentioned, it lubes your threads, and also protects against oxidation and grit getting into the threads and munging up the works. If you're going to shell out for the good stuff, you might as well do what you can to keep it good.
The threads on my Chucks are doing great after over 20 months.

But I recently got a Reo Mini and it says to put some Noalox on the firing pin.
So I guess that is for protection from oxidation?
