Just don't fall for the "cures". I had vaper's tongue for about a week when I first started. People had me vaping hot cinnamon juice, vaping the strongest pure menthol I could find, putting hot sauce on my tongue, eating jalapenos, drinking pickle juice and even straight vinegar, brushing my teeth and tongue over and over, and all kinds of other crazy stuff. Someone even told me that if I put an unused tampon in my mouth and left it there for 5 minutes that would "cure" it. Don't believe 'em. Just wait it out, it will pass on it's own.
You have to be standing on your head for the tampon cure to work, rookie mistake. :p

Theories abound about vapors tongue. No one knows definitively why it happens, just that does happen approximately 2 - 3 months after quitting cigarettes to everyone. Some say its because new vapors don't hydrate like they should..... Not so much in my case. I read everything when I first started and made sure I was drinking plenty of water daily. I surely didn't want to have to go through that! Still got it. It lasted about 2 weeks. Very frustrating. I even wrote a blog about it.

I really believe it is a process that our bodies go through as we kick the cigarette habit. My tastes never went away for actual food, just that subtle moist air of vapor. Maybe it is the cigarettes last ditch effort to get us back on the smoking habit.

I haven't had vapors tongue since that first episode (probably just jinxed myself) and I haven't kept myself nearly as hydrated as I used to....getting lazy and sick of waking in the middle of the night to go pee.

You too will get past this. You are not alone. :) Welcome to the non-smoking club. This is your initiation :D

To come to think of it the only vaper's tongue I've experienced also followed the smoking habbit, but hasn't returned now that I only vape.

Has anyone else found that a cold glass of milk is a good prelude to a vape? It seems like milk sets up my membranes to be receptive to vape flavors.

The vaper's lozenge is the next $1 million idea.

Lmao!!! Wow I am just gonna leave it at that. Cigarettes taste like crap. Yet we got to a point where not only did the taste become tolerable, but we looked forward to it. I had more problems with the taste of cigarettes. Switching brands, because of the constant respiratory infections. Nothing tasted good for long. When my e liquids start getting blah I break out a bottle of wintergreen juice. Drink lots of water and maybe try yogurt or a probiotics. When I was a smoker I chain smoked up to 3 packs a day. Thrush became an issue so I got in the habbit of taking preventative measures.
