I went to see my cardiologist today and mentioned my e-cig to him, and how I was able to stop smoking analogs with it and after my standard exam and him listening to my lungs he liked the idea.. He had heard of them before but wasn't sure where to get one from for under a $100 so I pointed him to Shawn at litecigusa. But his words were " I prefer this idea over Chantix due to the side effects " and he will be recommending this to other patients now that he knows where to refer his patients and a few of his office workers.

My neurologist and I spend a good 20 min. just vaping and shooting the breeze now whenever I go in for my 'checkups' these days. LOL - I got him started on them a while back now so when I show up he uses my appointments to take a vape break.

I give him a hard time though -> his office is like you left on a friggin humidifier! Talk about a chain vaper, I bet this guy goes through 4mL in a short shift! :D

Well I don't see my Dr vaping anytime soon, but I am glad he was receptive to the idea and actually praised my efforts at quitting analogs. What blew me away was when he made that comment about preferring it over that Chantix because of the side effects.. Oh and by the way the check up went fine and my lungs for a change were actually clear. So I'm happy.

These are the kinds of stories that will help us vapers. If you quit smoking, or even cut back, due to PV's, DO talk to your doctor about them. Any physician worth his salt will be delighted that you've quit or cut back on smoking and will look closely at the method you used to do so. Having the medical community on our side as much as possible is absolutely necessary for the future of legal vaping. If WE don't talk to our doctors, then trust me, the agenda-driven agencies like ASH, etc. will be.

I know that some here don't like the strategy of "vaping helped me quit analogs", or "vaping is a healthier alternative to smoking", but there's a place for honesty in this battle. It can't always be all about "strategy to the exclusion of honesty". Common sense has to be brought back to the table --and that includes telling truths like "I took up PV's so that I could quit smoking".

My doctor quit smoking at some point in his life, and got disgusted at himself for going out to the alley during a Christmas family event to look for butts.... He was trying to encourage me but admitted his own weakness. Oh how I wish these PV's had been available for him. He was a dear doctor whose patients loved him so much. He died a couple of years ago at a ripe old age, but I think of him often. He was one of the .00000001% who somehow manage to quit by seemingly sheer will-power.

I don't think mankind was ever designed to accomplish much without a helper. The fellow who invented vaping was just the helper I needed. But I don't think I'll never get used to the idea that I really did quit smoking, because I considered myself the hardest case of all. If I could quit, then anybody could, and I couldn't. I'm so happy I found these PV's, you know the feeling. Me...a non-smoker? It just tickles me pink! :D
