Just had another breakdown and went back to the tobacco cigarettes yesterday, had a lot of stress lately and a long journey yesterday, thought that cigarettes were the only thing to calm my nerves. Don't get me wrong, I love vaping but I think I just need the cigarettes to get me through a tough patch and then I'll go back to vaping....

At least thats 2 months worth of cigarettes avoided, give it a couple of weeks until the stress wears off and I'll try again. Its as they say, its not how many you smoke but how many you don't smoke!

I had one other lapse prior to this one where I had 5 cigarettes but I got back up but this time its more stressful :/

Hey man, sorry to hear about your troubles. Don't kick yourself for smoking, I'd be willing to bet a large number of us have done it, multiple times, even. It takes time to completely switch for some. I've vaped off and on for almost 5 years now. In that time, I've tried an insane amount of gear, and have only in the past six months found my solution to all my issues with vaping.

I'm pretty sure when you get a good couple packs of analogs into you, you will start thinking seriously about vaping again. I know that's what has kept me at it. I KNOW they are better for me, I can feel the difference. Give it time, you will come around. At least, I hope you do. Vaping is a godsend, smoking is so very 2009.

Good luck, hope to see you vaping again soon.

I have an incredible amount of stress in my life right now as well. But it would be even more stress to go back to smoking for me. I just vape my f-ing head off with 24mg juice and it subsides enough to carry on. Having a few beers and vaping my face off also helps lol. I am exactly where you were at (2 months) and felt I was out of the woods at around two weeks.

At least you know there is an alternative out there. Keep your chin up and hopefully vape on.

Guys I'm in Thailand, I just buy vape juice from the street stalls and I haven't seen the high nic juices, I think I just needed a stronger throat hit for this situation...I think thats part of the buzz of smoking for me.

I'll get back vaping, but have a lot of stress at the moment and it was beyond 99% of stresses I could tolerate the urge to smoke again

Since I quit working I've felt no need for a cigarette and that was 5 years ago.Best of luck to you.

Of all the things, being at work is the time I want a ciggy the most. I have made it a point to still go out for a smoke, but I vape instead. Has helped a lot.

OP, you might start looking into different delivery devices. Not sure what you are vaping on, but get better gear for more volume of vapor. That might help along with higher nic juice.

I can completely relate to the stress factor. I am 45 and was told 2 months ago that I have to retire from my $75,000.00 a year job due to a shoulder injury. I have had 2 surgical attempts to repair but no luck. My next surgery is a total replacement.

And now that we are to the closing point of my lawsuit settlement with the company I worked for ( our work comp went belly up and the company took on all work comp claims ) and my attorney throws our offer to them and the company throws their counter offer and my attorney sticks with the original offer (she WILL NOT back down) and back and forth and back and forth, I feel myself teeter tottering with the Vaping and the analogs. But this isn't gonna be as stressful as the Medical Malpractice closure hopefully in Jan 2014. That is gonna be the most stressfull. Its not against my Surgeon but against the physical therapist who is the reason for surgery 2.

I totally get the stress thing, loss of job, loss of a parent out of the blue, you name it. I caved, but I never gave up vaping entirely. Now I'm back to just vaping, it'll be two weeks tomorrow. Don't give up, friend. All in good time. I am glad that in the last two weeks I've been in situations where I was drinking(my most vulnerable time) with people I know I could have gotten a smoke from(double whammy) and I didn't even want to. It wasn't that the cigs smelled bad either, they still have a certain draw but just that my e-cig gave me the power to move on. Good luck and don't feel bad, just know your pv is there for you and so are we.

As others have said, dont kick yourself for having a few analogs...we've been there and some still are doing a cig every now and then. I tried a few cigs since going exclusively to vaping, and end up putting it out halfway through because it tastes like crap lol. But when I go throigh tough periods I try to pull out the cigalike as it tends to feel like a real cig in my hand. Best of luck to you!

I wouldn't let it worry you. It happens and as long as you pick yourself up and return to vaping it's all good. I found there were a number of things that would trigger a desire to smoke, stress, too much caffeine, etc. Those I could change I changed. I also found that the desire for the secondary tobacco alkaloids frequently got very, very strong but I'd take a Snu and be good to go. That sounds like what is getting you, the secondary alkaloid craving. I found it drops off with time and less exposure to it. Last 2-3 weeks it has been very low.

I really didn't view quitting smoking as a big goal, so I was entirely happy if I snuck one or two in a week. I quit about 7-8 weeks ago and probably smoked a half pack over that time.
