So I went to the doctor 2 days ago for a sore throat (really thought it was strep) she took one look and told me it was not strep but thrush in my throat and in my sinuses. The really disapointing things she said was "oh i see thrush in a lot of vapors, caused by too much sugar." Her cure was as follows plain yogurt with live cultures and probiotics as well as finding ejuice with no sugar. She also tested me for diabetes just to make sure that wasn't the cause and that was negative. So i guess now its time to find ejuice with no sugar. Any advice for non sugar ejuice would be great.

I am not aware of any juice which has sugar in it (which could cause atty clogging almost instantly).

But if, and it's a big if, some juice has sugar, the amount of daily intake would be so minute that wouldn't possibly cause any candida.
Average juice consumption is about 2-3 ml. Even if that amount is all sugar it can't cause candida.

Disclaimer: I am not a doctor so take my opinion as just an opinion with a grain of SALT (pun intended)

May be a stupid question, but how many vapers could she have even seen to come up with that generalization? I know a lot of people and other than my husband, know only 1 other who vapes. Without a patient load of several 1,000, it would seem the probability of her having multiple vapers, much less multiple vapers with Thrush, seems... Well.... Unlikely?

Thrush is also more likely with a dry mouth (which can occur with vaping), in addition to anemia, antibiotics, asthma inhalers and smoking. Being an infant will also do it :)

No offense to the doctor and not saying she isn't telling the truth but....yeah... I agree with the others. Seems unlikely that she comes across a lot of people that vape to come up with that conclusion. Plus with all the different things you eat and the way a persons lifestyles can change from week to week even day to day I would say it could be any number of things. Just because she is a doctor doesn't make her correct but it is something to look into for sure.

Just wanted to put in a quick update since I had to go back today to do more bloodwork. Thyroid test came back and is not working right. But I asked her how many vapers she had seen in her practice. She's a doctor who vapes an ego! As well as 5 of her staff members and she recomends them to patients as a smoking replacement. And she did say yes it could have been more sugar in the diet but she usually get's it when she's been vaping a tobacco flavor for a week and then adds in a dessert flavor. She said sugar feeds yeast and it doesn't matter if its regular sugar or aspartame, or whatever other sugar subs there are and its very common in kids who drink a lot of apple juice. Worst part of todays doctor expeirience was signing in at 8 am and not being seen till almost 2 pm.

My mouth is usually really dry due to meds and I use Oasis mouthwash/spray.
When I go through a medication change that drys me out even more, I usually get thrush bloom.

When I do, I make my own mouthwash/spray with a greater concentration of xylitol that's already in Oasis.
If I have it on hand, I'll toss grapefruit seed xtract (citrucidal, or something like that) in. As well as glycerin as a humectant.
Basically the same potion I use in my neti pot, minus the salt.

Anyway google candida & xylitol. becoming a popular remedy.

(and/or I'll get a script called in for Nystatin "swish and swallow" if my physician relatives are speaking to me :) )
