Some ViVi Novas have airflow issues on a ProVari. It's a known problem. Sometimes unscrewing the Nova just a bit to allow for more airflow will fix the problem--sometimes it won't. If it doesn't, you may try getting a 510>510 adapter.

Sounds like the same issue ProTanks on ProVaris had until the airflow valve.

What I did to fix that before the valve came out was fold a small piece of paper a couple of times into a strip and place it between the tank and the device when screwing the tank down. It allowed enough airflow in without making the tank wobbly on top.

It's a free fix to try, anyway...LOL

It's the same issue with all tanks/clearos that come with bottom airflow intake. ProVari head doesn't have any airflow channels so it tends to block air intake on those models.

My issues with the bottom coils haven't so much been airflow, as flavor. I just can't seem to taste anything from them, not even tank cracking cinnamons.

I went with the vivis next, and then went to the iclears, to have something that wouldn't leak while I was busy trying to figure out how to use a vivi and keep it from leaking. I really like the iclear tanks, and wish they would release the new iclear ix in a top coil.

I think I need the warmth of a top coil... It seems more authentic to me than the raspy throat hit provided by pg.

Weird. I have a 3.5ml Vivi Nova that came with one of my MVP's and it won't work on the P. Someone at a B&M told me that I needed and adaptor for it but I don't know what kind. Any links to what I need for it??

You're really asking the wrong person. I just ordered the viva nova tonight. Maybe someone else can help.

Yeah, the wicks on bottom coils tend to be much smaller so less juice gets soaked up. That involves replacing the wick with thicker silicate or cotton of some sort. A hassle at times. That and the coil is closer to the drip tip area.

Now I know what to get next.
They're still a cooler vape than a top coil so bear that in mind.

Good pick, I'm assuming you ordered the genuine Vision model? I have five of them, and rebuild the coils repeatedly. (can you tell I like top-coils?...) The Vision tanks I have, the plastic is one that doesn't crack, even with flavors that have cracked other lesser tanks.

For re-building here's an easy step by step ---- Rebuilding a Vivi Nova | VAPE News Magazine

Yes, genuine, that's all I buy, and thanks for the link to the rebuilding steps, I will certainly consult it.

I considered the whole rebuilding coils thing, but shied away when I really thought about it. No one sells kanthal around here, and I don't want to be potentially stuck while waiting for the vapemail to arrive for coil head wiring.

So, I've stuck with the atty tanks, for relative quickness/ease of getting heads and replacement.

I have six or seven or eight bottom coil tanks (lost count) so I'm familiar with it. LOL

Don't understand the bottom coil haters. For top coil fans... don't you get tired of lifting your PV all the time to keep the wicks wet? Yes, I do think BCC's flood a lot more but I don't miss the balancing.

I wouldn't say I hate bottom coils. I have several of them. They are very convenient. But after months of vaping I just find my iClear 30 to be the one I keep reaching for because it produces a much better vape. I'll always love my evods and protanks, and at first, yes, I was annoyed at having to tilt and spin the iClear to saturate that wick, but now it's just routine. So what. I have to tilt it. The result is a good wick. Heck, with my AGA t2 I literally have to turn it upside down to get the mesh saturated. I'm not ripping on the the bottom coil in any way shape or form, just wanting to try new things.

I've never had an issue with top or bottom coils. As I tend to enjoy baked desert flavors the most, I was starting to like the warm vape from top dual coils then anything with bottom coils. That said, they ate juice at alarming rates, and I also started using carto tanks around the same time. Cartotanks ultimately own, but I do enjoy my Aspire BDC ET S. A glass bottom dual coil with a surprisingly warm vape.

Don't understand the top coil haters. For bottom coil fans... don't you get tired of bending over to take a puff on your PV all the time to keep the wicks wet?.....;)

If the wicks are trimmed short enough, and fluffed out, the action of taking a puff is more than enough to keep the wicks saturated. No more difficult than squonking a bottom feeder. The right amount of wicking, positioned properly keeps flooding at bay. And if the wicking is the right size and positioned correctly, haven't had any flooding with BCC either, they just don't taste as good.

I long ago learned through trial and error how much "blue foam" was necessary to keep a 510 cart from flooding, these modern gizmos are easy by comparison.....:)

Well, the iClears are dual-coil devices (one coil on top, one on the bottom); they tend to produce more vapor and require more wattage to perform well. ViVi Novas are true top-coil devices, but they only have one heating coil. So you have to figure out first what it is about the iClears that you like--the fact that one of the coils is on top or the the fact that is comes with two coils. :)

If you like the dual-coil setup, try an Aspire ET-S (eGo threaded) or a Nautilus (huge 510 threaded topper). But their coils are placed on the bottom of the tank, hence their name (BDC--bottom dual coil).
Hi Katya, sorry to contradict you, but for clarity, the iclears do not have a coil on top and another in the bottom, both coils are at the top, one place just under the other perpendiculary.
