I have an Ego Mega-t (type B) and I know nobody likes the tank on that. I'm not arguing. But I also see lots of posts discussing tanks and pictures of very different type of tanks than the little plastic leaky thing I got. Its not quite so bad but it does leave something to be desired. I ordered some cartos and I'll get to see the difference in taste soon. The leaking isn't like the Titanic.

What about the tanks people on here are talking about? They look pretty cool but what's the difference, in function and flavor? Do they dull the flavor also or are they better at flavoring than cartos? What are the pros and cons of these types of tanks?

I'm surprised to hear your tanks don't leak. Its not terrible but there is always some liquid residue on the outside of the tank when I pull it out. Sometimes a stronger flavor will cling to the atty and so it gets in the way of the next flavor I want to use. I just ordered the silicone seal so maybe that will help. Do you use those or the regular plastic cap that comes with it? Do you not notice flavor dulling with the tank? I was led to believe that happened, which is why I just ordered the cartos.

The tanks you are most likely reading about feed juice to a cartomizer(Boge, Smoktech, etc). The cartomizer needs to have slots or holes punched in them for the juice to feed the carto through. Depending on how picky you are about the looks of it determines how expensive they are, I think the chibi tank from parkesvaping.com is about the cheapest($8 with a punched carto) and then the sky is the limit, tanks with very nice stainless end caps, the lavatanks by JonboyUSMC are absolute masterpieces- I don't have one....yet..

Chibi tank LR Chibi Tank Mod (boge 2.0)
They might drive you crazy if you don't have a drip tip, but they work as good as the higher priced tanks.

The biggest con to these tanks is patience while filling the cartomizer, most cartomizers hold 1ml or more by themselves. And everyone has their own method for filling carto tanks

If the only leak is some residue on the outside of the tank--you are doing very well as that is probably just some condensation of the vapor which is normal. If that is the only problem you have with the ego tanks, keep using them

I have the plastic A type & fill through the hole in the bottom of the tank. No.
Leaking is defined as leaking outside the PV on your hands. It must come out of the tank on the inside! You just don't know how good you have it!

Lizblu hi,
i also used the ego tanks in past from the regular size to the mega size and once in a great while i would get a leak then used the silicone end caps with no leaks . I did fill em with a syringe instead of removing the end caps.
I kmoved on to a mod and bought an acorn tank a simple cheap tank that comes with a ce2 thats easily replaced its the cousin of the chibu tank that takes a carto.
I put it on the ego as it was on the mod and i noticed a difference in tast on both the ego and my mod tight away and this is the same juice i been vaping for 6 months.
Best to you.

It may not be leaks, but rather condensate. If you see it mostly in the little channels on the sides of the tank, then that's what you are seeing. That's the air channels, where the vapor passes through. The tank is cooler than the vapor, so it condenses there. Not much to be done about that.

You can (and should) wash the old flavor out of your atty. You need to clean it anyway now & again to prolong its life.

I tried the silicone caps, but now I just use the regular ones whenever I use my atty/tank combo with my eGo-T. Seemed like the juice didn't feed as well with the silicone caps, and I would periodically get a burnt wick taste.:nah: There are workarounds to this, but I don't bother.

A tank is like an addition to a cartomizer. It feeds juice into the cartomizer to give you less time between refills, so you don't need to carry liquid around. If you use just one juice all day, they are a good option, but if you like to switch up the juice, try dripping. I just got my Torpedo Tank from Jonah here in NM. It is really sweet. It takes me 2 days to vape all the juice it holds. The only thing I don't like is that it falls apart easily, so you have to watch that the ends don't start slipping off.

For starters i i also have a ego t. I sometimes think newbies confuse the condensation as leaking. But no matter as to tanks......I really only have one and its rather small. I have the volcano ecigs tube tank (3ml). Yes it is rather small but its a workhorse no leaking what so ever. It came with and the refill cartos are dual coils.

I dont really think i like the dual coils so i took to punching my own cartos. I use 1.7 LR cartos and they are awesome.
