there are many different factors that affect how well your juice taste.
1. your own taste buds - dont expect juices to taste fantastic if you have just quit smoking as your taste buds are probably still kinda dead
2. amount of PG/VG ratio in the juice - higher PG juices tend to taste better as PG is the flavour carrier. some do 50/50 while most are 30/70
3. the steeping time - fruity flavours are good as a shake and vape. but cream and custard flavours tend to really shine after a week or two. my cereal milk recipe shines after 3 weeks
4. amount of nic - high nic levels tend to kill of the flavour of the juice. especially so if you leave it alone for weeks
5. amount of flavouring in the juice - most DIY-ers settle between 10-15% of flavouring in juice. some go higher and some go lower, it's all personal preference.

On top of what was advised, type of tank will matters more than mods. Different airflow, coil builts.. wicking, cotton..

Thats why i love vape..because u can customise until paralyse.. just to suit your own taste buds..

all the mod does is to provide the power to heat up the coils. certain juices taste better when using a higher wattage. some juices taste better at lower wattages.

and also agree with what KenshinAdryan said, the type of tank/RDA used will also affect flavours.

to simplify it, there are many many variables when it comes to vaping. best advice to you is to stick to one juice and play around with the variables that relate to the tank/RDA. once you find the best set up for your preferred flavour, then change the juice and you should be good.

From what i experienced, choice of tank is important. Those juice holes and all must be sufficient.

And wicking is one of the most important part in the Coil Build Section. Really. It's not just about good looking coils, but it's also about good amount and length of the cotton which determine you either get the juice spitting onto your tongue, more flavor or clouds. Or even all of those.

And from what i tried so far, i really love the crown tank alot. But u must find out how to tackle the leaking issue first. Takes time.

Most would actually choose to change the juice than the tank/RDA tho, I myself am one of them, juice 1 btl $25 but 1 tank can be upwards of $50?

yeah i guess that's the limitations of living in SG, equipment are harder and more expensive to obtain. i just feel that juice is probably the easiest constant to keep to ensure you get the most out of it. but to each his own!
