Ok so i've got my joye 510 and my tasty vapor juice. I'll fill up the cart like it's supposed to (about 10 drops) and everything is good at first, but the top dries out really fast and i have to refill more juice.

Everything should be fine because i'd expect it to burn juice as i use it, but for some reason it only dries out at the top and the bottom 3/4th's stay damp, but i'll still get those nasty dry hits and i'll have to refill again.

So the top 1/4 burns fine, it's just the bottom 3/4's of the cart that never burns and i'm constantly refilling. It's like the atomizer isn't reaching the bottom 3/4's of the carts juice.

This can't be right, is it? What am i doing wrong here?

The filler it comes with is ok but its not the worlds best at wicking.
Try dripping directly on your atty bridge - remove the cart filling and just use the cart as a mouthpiece - and really taste the flavor :)
*YOu want 2 or 3 drops max on your atty bridge, any more will flood it.
DOn't want to stick with dripping? You might want to try a cart mod. Many people like hte blue foam (its a filter material that is used in fish tanks, NOT the one with carbon in it) as it wicks better. There are many many cart mods you can try.
You'll be wanting hte cart mod forum if thats the case - Cartridge Mods - E-Cigarette Forum

It's strange that the carts aren't wicking. Before I started dripping I used to re-fill the 510 carts with no wicking problems whatsoever. I even ordered blue foam to try a cart mod but I didn't even attempt it because the polyfill that came with the carts was sufficient enough.

Is your filler too tight at the bottom? You're going to want it as loose and airy as you can get it. Make sure to spread out the filler at the top once you get it back in the cart. If this doesn't work maybe try a cart mod like stated above, or direct dripping which is awesome IMO.

Try highping's cart mod out first. It's the easiest and it works. The juice is free to flow in the bottom of the cart and the plug sits at the top, makes contact with the bridge while the juice is sloshing around behind the plug. It keeps the plug wet and you can vape the cart completely dry.

ok so i'm dripping now directly on the atomizer and everything was fine at first and now i'm getting a nasty burnt taste mixed in with the taste of the juice.

This burnt taste is not when it's drying up after i drop the three drops and i've taken several hits. I'm talking my first hits after refilling with three drops.

I've dried blowing out and cleaning the atomizer and starting all over and i'm still getting a burnt taste.

Any ideas?

On a dry atty, yeah it may take a few more drops. I used to get the burnt metallic taste all the time, now I'm very careful to keep everything in there nice and moist. A bit of flooding won't hurt you either, unless you have an auto battery that the juice can leak into and ruin.

Actually your comments on the 510 bring me right back to my first week with it! I had the exact same issues. Went exclusively to dripping for a while (it really is easy and works well) but now I use the simple straw mod.
