Today I purchased two 30ml bottles of LIQUA E-liquid flavor Berry blend and Cappuccino, both 24mg ... but they taste like Burnt plastic!!(The bottles were sealed) I wasnt able to stand vaping on them.. my throat burns so bad ... I am using an Evod, 2ohmish coil (10/9 wrap 30G Kanthal, cotton wick, both coil and wick built today) on an Ego C-twist battery at 3.6V. I have been vaping on 24mg liquids for a good while now.

I read the below post and only found good reviews on that liquid, is it me or what could be wrong?
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/gotvapes/274499-liqua-ejuice-reviews.html

Thanks in advance!

My first guess is your coil.

1. Have you done these coils before? Do you have silica or anything where you can try the eliquid on something other than your coil? Is the eliquid a different PG/VG ratio than you're used to?

2. Does it lessen if you drop the battery down to like 3.3v, and do some primer puffs?

3. Play with the cotton in your coil -- chances are you are rolling it or something and the eliquid isn't able to get to the coil in the way it needs to. Hence, you're burning your cotton or getting severe dry hits.

1- Yes, been using this build for a good while now with the best results on other brand tobacco and dunhill menthol flavors, also 24mg. I am afraid I don't have a ohm meter (shame on me, but trust me, in my country it is very difficult to get one... if I order abroad I am lucky if I get it in about 2 months.. but from several android apps I have found my build should be around 2.4 ohms) along with the liquid I bought a new evod today and a Silica 1.8ohm factory coil, and tried it at 3.2V and still the same burnt flavor
2-No matter the voltage... I tried from 3.2 up to 4.0 (3.2 is the minimum on my ego twist batt) and to be very honest, it felt better on higher voltage
3- I have sincerely played with cotton wicks for a good while and I honestly feel I am kinda good at it, I tried both with a thick wick and just now I am trying a very thin/loose wick and I stil feel the same burnt flavor :(

NOTE: I am vaping a combo of about 30% Dunhill menthol and 70% LIQUA Cappuccino and it feels Ok on lung hits.. mouth to nose.. It smells like burnt plastic :(

Yet another edit... Unfortunately none of the liquids I've vaped specify the PG/VG ratio ... :( from looks the are about the same thickness

I'm drawing a blank honestly if it isn't those things, but I've also been drinking. If there's no hot leg in the coil and you're sure of the wicking -- which is what it sounds like based on the fact that when you take a long draw it gets worse -- total blank, but this'll give you the bump and maybe someone smarter'll have an idea.

If you guys see this.. I want to say a big THANK YOU!! I took a little of everything and some more I read around.. It seems a 2mm coil was way too big for mi evod... Which I like cause is light and the same width as my battery... But anyway I had been noticing the tank was getting too hot (although I am guilty cause I chain vape) but anyway today i was still getting that damn burnt flavor on the cappuccino liquid and when I came back from work I noticed the juice was caramelized on the coil... So I did what i had been thinking to do but neglected to.. I built a micro coil on a 1.5mm screwdriver, 9 wraps that should have me around 1.7ish ohms.. And properly primed cotton wick.. And ...... Oh man!!! This is it!!!! Tank gets warm but the vape... Oh the vape is sooo awesomeee!!!! Delicious flavor.. Thick silky vapes... I also trimmed the upper top of my rubber stopper(something I read somewhere) and voila! I am happy.. And that is good happy!! Thanks everybody! I wish we had this type of community here im my country!

When i tried dripping for the first time i had sort of the same problem i usually vape at 12 mg nic but when i tried it on an RDA it was far too much for me i couldn't taste it and it made me cough alot what seemed to work for me was using a lower nic level maybe it will work for you
True my friend... I have been thinking about that... Im hoping my juice supplier gets some lower nic soon and will do.. After fixing this issue 24mg teally gets me high (which I kinda like)

If $cost$ is a major issue, I would just keep buying 24mg and dilute it with glycerin from the pharmacy.

Hi and welcome to ECF!

Got here too late to help, but glad to see you got it straightened out.

Just for future reference, One thing that I do when I have a coil/juice/power combination that tends to easily produce dry hits is the "pulse fire" my device while drawing. By that I mean hit the fire button for about a second or two while slowly drawing, then let go. While still drawing, hit the fire button agai. repeat as neccessary. This helps keep the coil from getting too hot.

If you are chain vaping, be sure to let the coil cool down for a few seconds between draws. That helps ensure that the wicking is keeping up. But you probably already knew that.

Hope that helps and Happy Vaping!
