What am I doing wrong with carto's

I have been trying carto's because they seem to be the most popular but they don't seem to work right for me.
First of all I get very lose airy hits from them and I don't get a lot of vapor either. I have tried both smoktech carto's with the flange and boge xl sr carto's with the same thing. I am using a smoktech 2.5ml tank with an iTaste MVP. I have slotted them several different ways usually with 2 slots. I make sure they are fully saturated but still no matter what I do they just don't work very well. Am I doing something wrong? I really like the idea of the carto's and their tanks as you can get some rather large ones. Any help please.

One thing you can do for airy cartos is take a round pointed toothpick and stick it in one of the air holes at the connector and break it off flush. That will leave you with one air hole and hopefully the drag will be just right. That could be why you are getting very much vapor also. Be sure to really saturate your cartos so there are no dry spots in the filler material. It helps to lay them on their side for 15 - 20 minutes then roll it over for another 15 - 20 minutes so the juice can soak in evenly. I use mostly Boges and they don't seem airy to me but I have had some cartos that are.

Try a few drops into your drip tip and see if that helps. I've often found that even leakers (through the connector) will have dry filler at the top.
