I have 2 tanks: a tall fat one and a tall skinny one (Laurel and Hardy). Anyway One tank was received with the carto installed which I filled and refilled (ref: "Chapter 3: The Tank") but it worked beautifully once I had eaten a sufficient quantity of paper towels.

The problems began when I decided it was time to refit the tanks with new carts. I had ordered 2 boxes of carts: Box #1 "510D XXL LR Stainless" and Box # 2 510 dual coil....yada Yada. So I put a Boge in one tank and brand "X" in the other. WHat happened after filling with juice is that I would have had to been able to aspirate (for Dusty.........ok "suck") a bowling ball through 50 meters of garden hose to get a vape.

Did some research and even did the Dremel thing as instructed by the PBusardo....still no happiness.

THings I checked:
  • the hole on the cart was above the bottom tank cap
  • the plastic/rubber top was off the cart.
  • The airway Lava Tube connected to the cart appeared ok. Can't aspirate even disconnected

Please instruct me in the proper trouble shooting

PS Thank golly gee whiskers (for Dusty) for my newly acquired e Go Twist and long and short wick eGo Vision Star Dust and the Vision Stone Tank.

Did you make sure the tank was pulled up a little but so there's a small amount of space between the bottom of the tank and the LT? If it's pushed all the way down and touching the top of the PV, you'll restrict the air flow. I have the same problem when I refill a tank, and have to make sure there's a bit of space left in there. There's no flange on the Boge cartos so it slides around freely.

Also, do you punch or slot the cartos?

Before I start "Tanks".

On Tall fat boy: Pulled tank up - big slippage too far correction made. Ok that seems to work, lots of gurgling, hmmmmmm kleenex doesn't taste the same as paper towel.

Let me do Tall skinny will be right back.

Amazing how much e juice a cart can hold. The tank was full, I put it down on its side and when I picked it up to do the MINEFIELD work around there was no juice visible in the tank. So......I've attached said tank with flanged cart to the LT and will wait for gravity to do some magic...............

Looks like this will take a while so will have to get back to you......... Wait I have discovered an assembly error. Cart is in wrong way. The flanged tank cap in wrong end (don't worry Dusty I'll leave it alone)....Change made. Dam these things are messy.

Seems a little bit better but will allow for cart to drain into the tank. Aspiration is getting better but kleenex is running low.

Will get back to you later tonight.

Just make sure you fill the cartos before you fill the tank, as it sounds like that's where the juice went.

Right you are Minefield. Another assembly error. The guys on the line at the cars companies are probably happy I'm no where near them. I think I'll take a shower now, go home chain vaping my Twist all the way to Oakville.

Talk later........

If you prefilled the cart it almost sounds like you flooded it, especially if the draw is near impossible and you have a ton of gurgling when you draw. The inner filler of the cart shouldn't be soaked or over saturated, just "squishy" looking. When you initially prefill the cart it can take a while (10-15 minutes maybe) because you need to put a few drops in and let it sit to soak in, then repeat the precedure. It's a painfully slow process I know.

If the draw is impossibly tight, check to see that both air holes on the connector are there, I had a carto the other day that only had one.....

And if it is flooded, pull the carto down so the hole or slots are at least below the o-ring, then blow, if you dont and just blow with the holes in the tank it will just feed more juice into the carto.

Finally when filling the tank, pull the carto down a bit so you can move it over slightly and then put your juice in, do not ever pull the top off the tank when you have juice in it, as this will suck juice into the carto, and dont fill the tank with the cap off, and then try to push the cap back on over the carto as it will force juice into the carto and flood. These are all my opinions of course :)

Hey thereal, I almost sent you a PM about tanks today. I have a bunch of them & just don't get them:unsure: They just don't work for me & I'm intimidated about modding anything, cuz I usually just wreck the stuff.

I did end up punching a hole in one but it didn't make any difference GRRRRRR

What is going on with yours Unique?

One of the many mistakes I've obviously made. Looks like this is going to be like running down a pre-flight.:glare:

Hey thanks for the explanation and the work. Looks idiot proof ... I'll be the ideal test. Thanks again it may take some time to respond because I have to change into my Haz Mat suit.....

Project guy,

I am FAR from Mr. Pro, but here is my experience with Tanks.....

I got a Smoktech Chrome 4ml Tank Dual Coil Cartomizer Clear With Drip Tip and was kinda meh....

I then got some single coil boge xxl's and made my hole bigger .... suddenly I loved my tank ( other than I was using juice like a squiggliedo ).

A bigger hole or two smaller ones made a huge difference in my enjoyment, and functionality, and yes make sure you fill the carto when filling the tank otherwise sadness might ensue.

I'm back. It wasn't pretty but I got Fat Boy working. I used a fresh cart. Used a condom, the method that is. Fortunately Fat Boy wasn't too full so I laid it on its side pulled the offending cart and replaced it with the fresh cart.

I've not mentioned many dead ends and near catastrophic messes in order to protect the innocent...me.

On to Thin Man

Apropos of nothing: I'd have called them Fat Man and Little Boy. That would have been the bomb...

Classic case of different strokes for different folks. Some folks would do better with punching (1 hole or 2), others better with slotting (1 slot or 2). 1K, in your case you might be the ideal candidate for the pre-punched cartos with the miniscule hole on the side.

I've finally arrived at my happy place as far as tanks are concerned and here's what I need to achieve it:
* Smoktech 6ml DCTank or Phiniac XL tank.
* Smoktech Single coil carto
* Dremel with cut-off disk
* Siam mods Tank Filler tool
* Juice

The only method that works for me is 2 slots on either side of the carto. I use the tank filler tool to refill the tanks, so they never come off the device until the carto needs changing which is every 3 or 4 days. I usually slot around 5 or 6 cartos every weekend and keep them ready for when needed during the week.

I was on the verge of giving up before I hit on the ideal combo, so, take your time and figure out what works for you.
