Hi
What a great forum this is I love it! I need a bit of advice. Just bought my first ecig from my ecig. I'm finding that I'm not getting very much vapour at all, hardly any on some puffs. I'm using a new medium mint cartridge and my battery has been fully charged for 8 hours. Where am I going wrong? I love the whole concept of vaping and I really want it to work!

Sorry, I don't really have an answer but I use a penstyle and I have never gotten a lot of vapor (like some I've seen here). But I get the throat hit so I have been okay with it. Also, I charged my batteries at least 12 hours when they were new (actually still do even though they are a month old!). Might help to know what type cig you have for others to answer.

Good luck!

Hi, I am not sure if my first ecig was the same as the one you have, but it was a supermini (looks like a real cigarette) from myecigarette.co.uk.
It was not at all good. Hardly any vapour, very hard draw and all for the price of £40!!!
I found this forum and quickly bought a 901 when I realised that they are very popular (for good reason, imho). I haven't looked at the first cigarette since. Tbh, it was utter rubbish. Sorry that this is probably not very helpful.

Hi Silverwolf,

Forgive me if I'm wrong but it might be that you're vaping on it like it's a proper cig. Take a slow and even draw and then inhale. Sounds weird but it works for me. Ensure your atomiser becomes warm but not too hot.

You could also try adding a drop of glycerin into the cart or directly onto the atomiser. Be careful to only add one drop at a time or you run the risk of clogging it up.

If you like mint btw, menthol crystals work a treat. You only have to dissolve one or two crystals to get a proper kick.

Two things to do.

1. get some decent juice like Totally Wicked and refill the cartridges.

2. You won't get much vapour if the atomiser is underpowered, a DSE901 can work well but works even better with a proper battery source. I use 4 x AA rechargeable NimH 2500mAh batteries so I get good vapour and hit every time. If you are not into making your own modifications then a good start is to buy Troggs Screwdriver. I don't own one but the principle idea is good, a manual switch so you can control the atomiser properly (those autoswitches are useless on any e-cig) and a battery that can give decent power to the atomiser so it actually works.

If you do that you'll be close to vaping heaven.

p.s. you might want to read the modifications section, here's some really usefull information in there.

Ok, a 901 should be giving off loads of vapor. So lets look at the possible problems.

Check the battery, Is it fully charged.

Check that the battery and atomizer are properly tightened.

Check that the atomizer is rid of the primer the factory pours in it for shipping.
Blow on the back of the atomizer really hard and let the juice pour out, then clean it with a paper towel and refil the atomizer with 3 drops of e-liquid.

If your atomizer is getting hot and no vapor is coming out, and you hear a gurgle sound then your flooded. Take draws on it very slow, just enough so the light comes on.

That should get it working

robw, Thank you so much!!! I was in the same boat with no vapor on a 1 day old epuffer classic elite. I didn't realize that it was the speed of the draw that affected the vapor...DA... Following your directions I took a slow draw and voila, I got vapor. Thanks a million!!!

I just tried to duplicate it and it's kind-of hit or miss, but at least I am getting some vapor. Sometime a lot of vapor. I think this must be a learned art.

Is there anyplace we should not put our fingers on the ecig? I've heard about 2 holes and 4 holes, but where are they? Could I be putting my fingers over the holes accidently?

Had the same problem with my new 901 using the cartridges that came with the kit. They seemed pretty dry, though. I couldn't squeeze anything out, although they were kinda wet.

I put some liquid in - about 8 drops, which still didn't make it puddle - and now it's working great. Maybe you just got some dry carts, too.
