Okay. New coils put in at the B&M on my Kanger eGo with Kanger Protank Mini II after nasty burning taste last night with two new coils. tasted fine at the store and all the way home. I get home and here is that nasty burning taste again. Am I vaping wrong. I have tried slow mouth draws, deep quick puffs, and it appears I burnt out a brand new coil within 30 minutes that worked fine for a bit. What am I doing wrong?

Should I put a brand new coil in? Again...

All it takes is one or two quick deep draws to gunk up and burn a coil. Burnt taste is a result of the wicking system's inability to deliver liquid to the heating element as quickly as you're trying to vaporize it.

Slow down.

Think of it as trying to drink a fountain soda vs a milkshake through the same diameter straw. The fountain soda delivers the flavor more quickly, so you can quick draw it all day long. Try that with a milkshake and you'll be disappointed.

A cigarette is like the fountain drink. Your device is like the milkshake.

Clean the coils, do a dry burn, rinse and do it like a milkshake. There's probably no reason to replace the coil yet. Those little boogers can last quite a while.

In addition to the questions Sthur asked, do you happen to know the ratio of your juice? It'll probably be on the juice bottle and expressed as a % of PG / VG.

All this stuff matters when trying to troubleshoot - but the good news is it should be something that can be fixed quite easily once we know a little more about your setup.

Okay. So I caved. Got tired of the issues with the penstyle and went straight to a small step up, purchased a K100 mod and now I am using that as my primary and an Evod pen for backup. The Kanger pen and tank was producing nothing but burnt taste even for all the guys at my B&M with new juice, new coil, etc. They were stumped so set me up nice with a decent discount on the K100. I now even more confused but I'm liking the K-100 with the exception of having to drip the coil ever 7-10 hits.

LOL, I suppose that is one way of fixing the issue - just buy a new setup.

Only thing is if you encounter the issue again, you just can't keep buying new equipment - can you?

So it sounds like you got a dripping atty - they tend to give more flavor, but they can be even more finicky than a clearomizer. I hope they talked to you about battery safety too - and sold you a good quality battery and charger.

There's a lot to read up on using this type of setup, I highly recommend you take a look around the Rebuildable Atomizer Systems and educate yourself on battery saftey.
