I started rebuilding my Kanger single coil heads. I'm doing 5 wraps of Kanthal 32 gauge wire and making sure the coil is not touching the base or the sides. Alos doing the dry burn on the coils before winking. I'm thinking this should read somewhere in the area oh 1.5ohm. When I put it on my MVP V2 to read the ohms, its reading 2.8ohms. My first thought was my MVP is not reading correctly, but when I read the ohms of a manufacture Kanger coil it reads correctly. Any help would be appreciated, since I'm getting tired of buying new coils every few weeks.

I personally would not dry burn if you have the coil in the head and put together as you can melt the insulator. If you are torching them before you drop em in that's different. Check out the ol tube. They have some pretty decent vids on protank rebuilds. Also I would invest in an ohm meter ( usually around 20 bucks online) to test them before you put them on the mvp. IF you have a short you could possibly damage it.

I hated rebuilding the coils for protanks at first but once I found what worked ( for me ) its pretty easy

Try using something with a smaller diameter. More wire = more resistance so the bigger diameter the more wire you will use. I'd recommend getting a set of small metric drill bits between 3mm and 1mm and using those to wrap coils instead of toothpicks. A lot more accurate. I'd probably use around 1.8mm for pro tank heads, too small and you won't have enough wick and it will leak.
