I have an itazte mvp v2 with a PROTANK 2 atty on 1.8 ohm coils but reading 1.9 on my mvp and I have read that lower ohms means bigger clouds but I don't know what ohm coils I should purchase. Does anyone recommend a PROTANK 3 for this setup because the mvp v2 can handle a dual coil tank?... But is that necessary if I already have a new PROTANK 2 and just need to get lower ohm coils to avoid spending money on another tank? Could lowering the ohm coils for my protank 2 deliver bigger clouds?

First I have had that exact set up. Kanger has sub ohm coils. They are at.8. However if you're going to change tanks I would recommend the Aspire Nautilus. Mini or reg is fine. I had the mini. In the long run if you are looking for bigger clouds you need to look into a mod. I have the Nemesis mod and I just got the Doge RDA. At single coil build I'm at.2 ohms and even in single coil mode I'm getting huge clouds. So if cloud chasing is what your going for eventually a box mod that can put out more wattage or a mech mod is the way to go.

Welcome to the Forums! As with most good clearomizers, you'll be able to get great flavor but the vapor production may leave a lot to be desired. MVP2 maxes out at 11 watts iirc. Although you can still get an RDA on there and get much better results, you may want to look into a new battery as well. Because of that limitation, you won't be able to fire at anything under 1.1 ohms, so the kanger .8's are out of the question.

If you want good regulation for not a lot of scratch, the iStick and any high airflow RDA (Mephisto, MutationX, Doge, Little Boy, Dark Horse) is a good way to go. 30 bucks for the mod and 15-25 for a decent clone should put you at the beginning of your next step in vaping. It may seem like a little much of an investment but you'll then be able to rebuild your coils and save a lot more money over time than with buying standard heads.

Speaking of heads, your MVP is reading your tank at 1.9 now because there's gunk buildup on the coil, or it's starting to degrade; therefore gaining electrical resistance.

It may not be the answer you were hoping for, but its a viable option indeed.
.
Hope this helps!

Lower ohms will produce bigger clouds with mech mods. But on high wattage box mods you don't have to use low ohm builds to get big clouds. That's the beauty of having 100+ watts to play with. You can build a 1 ohm build and crank it up to 65 or 70 watts and get some huge clouds. You want to find a sweet spot between coil surface area and heat capacity. Right now I'm using a dual coil setup in my Doge and it's making some massive clouds. 9 wraps each of 24g kanthal comes out to about 0.35 ohms. But I've had 1 ohm builds at 70 watts getting the same result. So basically lower resistance builds make bigger clouds on mechs because you have a set voltage; 4.2 volts on a fresh charge.

Everyone has already sort of said it but the MVP is all about durability. I have no experience with the Kanger tanks so I can't really help you with my experience. But there are lots of threads about rebuilding these heads and getting better performance. From everything I have read Performance is better with rebuilt coils versus factory. So for a couple of dollars worth of Kanthal and a bag of cotton you should have an old coil you could try this on. Max VG liquid you like perhaps thinned with a drop or 4 of distilled water could also do the trick for cloudier vape.

I personally wouldn't spend much money on this to try and get bigger clouds. Not really going to happen. They perform great for what they are but they aren't cloud machines. Nautilus is great for flavor but they have their own set of issues just like any other tank.
