Please excuse my ignorance but from reading about Atomizers, they are to be used by dripping occasionally? Every so many puffs? So I take it this Protank is a hybrid of sorts because the tank indicates to me that it can be filled up.

Atomizers are for dripping. An example is the HH357 from avid vaper. You drip more juice in (a few drops) as needed. It can be a very flavorful and warm vape. Not a necessary peice of equipment unless you want it.
The protank is a Bottom Coil Clearomizer. The juice gets heated on the bottom of the device as opposed to the vivi nova that wicks the juice to the coil at the top. The protank will give a cooler vape (cuz the heat is further away from you mouth) and an airy draw. IT can wick better too. IF you want to use clearomizers, it's worth a try.
Don't get caught up in the "better vape" hype. A vivi on a spinner is fine. I used that exact setup golfing this weekend and enjoyed every vape.

I didn't know what I was missing until I started dripping with an HH.357 atomizer. Now I hate vivis and clearos. I didn't know what I was missing. But I don't think I can go back now lower quality. My sister who vapes ego/clearos chokes when she puffs mine because she isn't prepared for the "wow"!

I have 2 reg egos after 2 months they don't have as much power in vape
I get a much better vape with my Ctwist
However after 1 month its not holding a charge as long as its used too
And I find myself constantly working with the plain ego's waiting for it to charge
Though about getting a spinner
But then I seen I could get a Vamo with batteries and a charger for $58 on fasttech
same as 2 spinners or Cwist which these disposable batteries don't seem to last
