so i have a kayfun lite plus coming in the mail but i couldnt wait 10 days to start building so i went out and bought a cheap rba from a local vape store. they told me it was called the "ironman". i looked it up after i purchased it and it doesnt seem to exist on the internet. i dont think they knew what they were talking about AT ALL. so my first question is: what am i vaping? has anyone seen this before??? below are some pics of my first rba which has one of my first builds on it which is giving me less vape than my aero tank.

not sure if you can see but theres the top positive screw, the middle negative, the left is the hole for my wick, and the right screw is just a screw that come out i guess so that you can fill?

o yea i forgot to mention. i need to work with what i have until i get my 4nine.
i have no mod yet just a vv/vw smoktech 1100mah. ive tried everything, still no good vape.

ive tried a dual coil, but my battery wont let me use it. ive tried single coil 4, 5, 6, 9 wraps from ohm 1.5 to 3.5 and nothing seems to give me a good vape on any wattage. what can i do to improve the vape?? 28 g kenthal and cotton.

i know this is challenging with only being able to use this particular battery and having to use what seems like such a terrible and cheap ($15) rba, but thats part of the fun right?

I have no idea idea what that could be but from looking at your pictures the coil needs to be wrapped tighter.

That rda looks like a crappy single wick version of a genesis style rda I would build that with 28 gauge around something very close to the whole the wick goes into, start using cotton as wick gives better flavor and much easier and cheaper to work with

When you get your kayfun what I have found best for me is to wrap it on a 7/64 drill bit and I like to stay between .7-1.0 on 26g usually a 6/7 wrap gets me around .7 something. But you just have to play with it to get it to your liking.

Well, I tend to go by ohms law calculator. HOWEVER, I like to use a certain wattage for a particular gauge of wire. for 28 gauge, I'd like to go around 10 watts minimum.

your battery is variable voltage, right? usually ego's are voltage based. If it is voltage only, at 4.2 volts, I would suggest a 1.8 ohm.

The other limit, is how many amps can you draw from your battery.. That, I think is the major setback.

ok so i just made a 6 wrap coil super super tight. 1.2 ohms exactly very nice coincidence right neal? seems to be performing best at 11 watts. its def better than before! vaping as good as the aero probably better if it has more airflow. going to drill holes tomorrow and find out. ill keep all posted. as you can tell im fairly new here and i have to say im impressed with e cig forums response!

Heh.. thank you. I think you'd get better performance with a higher gauge wire with less wraps, but that's my opinion. At lest you have an ohm meter and on the right step. :) keep a sharp feel out for the warmth of the battery. Since I don't know what safety measures your battery has, I'd keep feeling to see if it gets warm. if ti does, you might want to let it cool down some. 28 gauge heats up slower, and EGO style batteries have their limits. With a higher gauge wire, you can go up on the ohms. I think 1.2 ohms for your wire is about the best you can do At the moment.

anyways, keep vaping, and have a good night.

oh and neal i have a question; is the hole all the way on the right supposed to be unscrewed while vaping or what is that even for? could i put the wick back through for better wicking?

i tried putting another coil over that for a dual coil but my battery wouldnt let me fire

No, your battery wouldn't let you, and even if it could, it wouldn't give enough power. When you have two coils, you take the reading of each, add them, then divide by four.. that's the ohm rating for both coils combined. So, if your battery had a 1.2 limit, you could make two 2.4 ohm coils... but your battery would have a hard time with just one 2.0 ohm coil, two would just be too much for it... you could try though if you're just experimenting.

That other screw is for the fill hole. You could put a wick in there, or you could "u-wick" it. Only problem would be...how would you fill the atty.... As far as if it should be left unscrewed... I keep my refill hole unscrewed... otherwise, it'll create a slight vacuum while vaping, and not wick as fast. doing that though, leaves you with an atty that you shouldn't keep on it's side for long or you'l have leaking juice everywhere.
