To address the original post, though, you can get some information from the battery numbers. An 18650 is 18mm in diameter and 65mm long. A 16340 would be 16mm in diameter and 34mm long. They will generally be 3.7v, but sometimes 3.6v or 3.0v (and very rarely 3.2v...so I hear, I haven't seen any). AA batteries that you find in a store are generally 1.5v, and the rechargeables you get in a Best Buy or similar store are generally 1.2v.
