I am so excited my immediate family which is me and my husband, daughter and son with the spouses, and 4 grandchildren will be together. My son is from Mississippi, I'm from Lousiana and my daughter lives in South Carolina. We are all meeting at my daughters and have reservations for Thanksgiving Dinner at Uncle Bubba's( which is one of Paula Dean's) in Savannha, GA.

I am very thankful that we will all be together. No other member of my family smoke but I will be vaping all the way.

Sorry to hear you husband is in Iraq. My son-in-law has been deployed to Iraq 2 different times each, Each time it was for a year. My daughter certainly understands what you are going through. I usually don't get to spend Thanksgiving with my daughter and son-in-law because he has to save up this time for Christmas. They have been located in San Diego, CA for 4 years. He is now a drill instructor and are in South Carolina which is much closer.

I am so thankful that he made it home each time and hope he doesn't have to go again.

I will be praying for your husband's safe return. Have a nice Thanksgiving.

Well my husband is in Iraq and my kids and I have no family here so we will be spending it with the neghbors this year...It has been a really bad year for us but it will be over soon! Sorry to sound gloomy just not looking forward to it this year.

Don't feel bad. I'm in the tiny camp of people who basically can't stand any of my family outside my tiny immediate family which consists of my daughter, my dogs, husband and mother. These are the only ones that live close to me.

Can't stand my brother, his wife, my cousins and their spouses, my own dad, and most of my aunts and uncles and they all live 1000 miles away.......thank god.

And it gets even worse then that. My daughter and my husband (her step father) basically hate eachother anymore. And my mom hates my 2 dogs. And my husband hates the fact that my mom hates the dogs and nobody expect for hubby likes my cooking.

And there is basically only one thing we all agree on, the fact that my dad is the biggest ahole of all.

YEAH! It's time for another dysfunctional family holiday! Oh lord..........give me the strength to get through it...

I know exactly how you feel. My hubby's in the army and the holidays were terrible when he was stationed in Korea for a year. Then when he came home, he came down on orders for Fort Lewis, Wa. 1st special forces group.
So then, for the next 3 years it was just me, hubby, and daughter for the holidays. Now we are home and I', really looking forward to the deep fried turkey I'm making this year and the big old fashioned family thanksgiving.

When your hubbys returns home safely....Thank him for his service, for me.
