Hmm, if I'd tried a carto dripper at first I think I would have given up! It takes a bit of practice not to get that awful, burned taste LOL Maybe I was a slow learner

Dripping with a 510 atty is almost no hassle at all. Neither is using something like a VMOD or a REO - it's like all the flavor and vapor of dripping in a self-feeding portable spill-proof container.

I think every vaper should be sent a 510 dripper free with their ecig purchase. Dripping is almost foolproof and the flavor almost cannot be beaten. Add in the fact that there are few ways to mess it up and I reckon more people would have a great first vaping experience.

Recently both my wife and I made the switch from using our kayfun Lites to using our Patriot RDAs on a daily basis. The KFL is clearly more versatile (won't leak, large reservoir, etc) than a standard RDA, yet RDAs are more flavorful and fun at the moment for both us. The ability to change wicks (microcoil with cotton) and flavors quickly also makes trying and switching juices more fun.

A carto is completely different from a 510 atty. I'm not saying you can't get a burnt hit from a 510 atty, just that it's harder to do. If you drip 4-5 drops of juice in it, take a pull with no power you should hear a slight gurgle. Then fire it up = good vapes. If you put too many drops, it's fine, it'll just weep a little from the bottom. Quick wipe with a paper towel and you are back to vaping again.

Now with a carto, I've had nothing but burnt hits... eugh, that batting tastes nasty. I tried them when I first started vaping and have never gone back to them.

Of course I understand not everyone thinks the way I do or gets the same results - so it's all good, whatever works for you is the best way.

I'm talking about the little 510 Joyetech - or the 306 Cisco. I only called it a carto dripper to differentiate from an RDA (my mistake, sorry). Yes, with practice it's easy - but what I'm saying is that for beginners, new to vaping, I think it would be totally offputting and frustrating!

Sorry, got the wrong end of the stick. All good...

I drip, I only drip, I only drip all the time. Really it is not that much of a hassle. When I sit down to build a coil, I do all of the ones that need it or do not perform like I want. I have started doing nano coils because they are the most forgiving to me. Stuff a small bit of cotton under them and vape away. I have 6 different attys and that is how I switch flavors now. Easy enough to do. As far as it being impossible to do while out and about, I have a steam turbine that I have drilled the airhole out on and I will fill the tank but I set up the top like any other dripper. I just turn the PV over and it rewets the cotton. The worst I have to do is adjust the coil position occasionally. The biggest drawback to dripping is that I cannot taste a thing when trying to test juice at a B&M and they have a bunch of clearos for tasting. I just can't taste much from them. That is the biggest reason I fell in love with dripping in the first place. The flavor just cannot be matched.

I have the same problem and have made several regrettable purchases because of this. :(

Dripping pretty much ruined my love for iclear clearomizers and Smok Cartos. It can be tedious, but the trade off in flavor and vapor consistency is well worth it. I did pick up a EHpro KFL+ for times where I just want to set, vape and forget, but my RDA is what I use for the majority of my vaping time.

Plus, nothing better than your own RDA at a B&M if you are looking for a new e-juice.

I prefered dripping for about 8 months. Then I grabbed my eRoll and the taste is almost as good without the hassle.

I still drip on occasion, but it's rare these days.

Almost as good translates to not as good. Maybe the difference is very minor but there is a difference. Flavor is where it's at for me. Plus The only things I ever have to buy are wire and cotton and juice.

I'm on week 2 of my first dripping atomizer (cheapie from Fasttech) and I'm really liking the increased flavor it can provide over my various other types of atos and cartos. Paired with my new mechanicals, it's really making a good impression on me.

Related, I'm already looking into getting a better one from a USA vendor based on advice from a more experienced vaper buddy, it'll have considerably safer materials used in it. Can't decide between an IGO W, IGO W3 or Omega. Would eventually like to give dual coil building a shot which is why I'm not looking at the IGO L. I did try searching the forums a little but couldn't nail down proper keyword parameters to find what I was looking for. Any suggestions regarding these choices or if I should be looking at others in the $20 range would be greatly appreciated!
