Hello Everyone!

I'm still pretty new to the DIY, and I have had many more failures than success with my e liquid. I've searched through the forums for people's favorite flavors from companies... So far, I understand that FW Carmel Candy is a good choice, Cap Vanilla Custard, PA Vanillin?? (is it really Vanillin?) seems to get good reviews. I've spent SOOO much money on flavors from PA, Cap., and LorAnn, but only like a handful of them. I wish I'd have done this PRIOR to spending so much money...

So, my thought was this:

What if people list their personal favorites from whichever supplier. Maybe it will help some of us getting started get a better idea of the general consensus.

Thank you in advance for any redirects to already posted threads that perhaps I've missed - or for your personal choices. I appreciate all the help I can get!

Excellent idea! Caramel is going in the number one spot since you mentioned it and I use a drop or two in numerous recipies ;)

Top 5 picks
1. FW Caramel Candy (not by itself, but use it in everything 1-2%)
2. FA Balck Hoeny Tobacco (6-8%)
3. FW Coffee (5-9%)
4. FW Banana (5-6%)
5. FW Spearmint (8%)

I have a slew of other flavors and enhancers. But so far I am loving Flavor West for fruit flavors. Its hard for me to make a top 10, but those 5 stand out for me.

Bottom 3 (wont buy again)
1. FW Ankara Tobacco (Straw, hay, outdoors)
2. FA Perique Black (too dry and scratchy)
3. TFA DK Tobacco (comes off like fritos to me)

We might be able to recommend some flavors for you if we know which ones you've gotten that you liked and disliked. :)

That being said, there are flavors that you'll find in recipe after recipe because they're generally well-liked and tend to mix well with other flavors. Hopefully others can chime in here and let you know what I've missed. Some of those would be:

Cotton Candy or Ethyl Maltol
TPA and/or Lorann Bavarian Cream
FA Vienna Cream
Capella's Marshmallow or TPA Toasted Marshmallow
Caramel - everyone has a favorite. (I prefer Capella's.)
TPA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
FA Cookie
TPA Sweet Cream
TPA RY4 Double (mostly used as a stand-alone flavor, I think)
Graham Cracker
Coconut

Some of my personal favorites which aren't on the above list, are:

Capella's Toasted Almond - Doesn't taste anything like almond extract and needs a bit of steeping, but does taste just like a toasted almond.
Capella's French Vanilla - I actually prefer this to the vanilla custard. It's my favorite vanilla.
TPA Champagne - Goes great with almost all fruits.
TPA Dulce de Leche
Nature's Flavors Cake Batter
Nature's Flavors Strawberry Shortcake
Nature's Flavors Sangria
FA Irish Cream
Vaping Zone's Real Cig

Tobaccos:
1. VapingZone Realcig/EcigExpress MLB (the same thing as far as I can tell)
2. Piece - ECX (Very similar to realcig/mlb)
3. Zhongonhai - ECX (also similar to rc/mlb, and for some reason is listed under 'fruit express' flavors)
4. DHill - ECX
5. Winston Churchill - ECX

Desserts: (some used to mix with my tobaccos)
6. French Vanilla - CAP (actually it's hard to decide between this and Nature's Flavors Fr. Van. - both are great).
7. Hazelnut - CAP
8. Butterscotch - Nature's Flavors
9. TPA double chocolate clear
10. CAP chocolate fudge brownie

Wonderful to see more replies!

@ Ealisaid - Thank you for the information! My personal preferences are desserts, but this list isn't just for me. Hopefully, if people list their favorites, it'll help us newbies get a better feel. I have all of YOUR personal favorites, with the exception of the flavors from Nature's Flavors. That was one company I didn't see much of when I started buying flavors (another reason I was motivated to start this). Thanks for your help Ealisaid!

@Leothwyn - That's great! I have a couple of your flavors too (CFB and Hazelnut from Cap). I have been looking for a great Butterscotch! Have you tried many before choosing Nature's Flavor? That is one flavor I MUST MUST MUST have! Thank you Leothwyn!

@singu - Thank you singu! I haven't heard of some of those flavors.. I can't wait to look them up! I LOVE raspberry! But can honestly say I've never heard of Inawera... time to do more research! Thank you singu!

Capella's Marshmallow and Vanilla Cupcake are two I use a lot. They also have a great Cheesecake since you like bakery Vapes. FW's Caramel Candy is spot on if you like candy caramel. NF is suppose to have the best Butterscotch.

For NF, wait til Monday and High Desert Ecigs should have them in stock at a good price.

Hey djbishybish! Thanks for that information! I do have Capella's Marshmallow, Vanilla Cupcake, and Vanilla Custard (as I saw that many people seemed to love it). I have heard that FlavorWest has a great Caramel - I think I'm going to order that, and the Butterscotch (with I've seen people post a lot about), before the weekend!

You brought up something else that I wonder about. You said if I waited until Monday that High Desert Ecigs will have them in stock at a good price.... Is it less expensive to purchase through a third-party vendor rather than directly from the manufacturer?

Thanks for the information djbishybish!

I'm super new to this, like a little less than 2 weeks, and the ones that I like are Mt Dew and Peach, both from TFA/TPA. My attempt at Banana Bread, I think 10% banana and 5% Acetyl Pyrazine, was like oh, it was bad. I'm soaking my tank in water with a few drops of bleach...I cannot escape it. I fear for my wicks.

Re: Caramel
I'm either mixing it too strong or just don't like it. It's so heavy and thick and not sweet. Then again, so far I found all the pre-mixed "tobacco" flavors really missed the mark with me. I haven't tried any chocolates yet, but I'm sure they won't work for me...how could they? It's not cocoa based.

Hey Wishdog! You're soaking it in bleach?!? That just doesn't sound safe at all! I will soak mine in a mixture of water and white vinegar if I'm trying do de-flavor it. Be careful!! Make sure you rinse it well... maybe even for like a month! I know when I use bleach to clean, it burns my lungs.. I can't imagine maybe vaping a little of it by accident... Please be careful!!!

I'm looking for a caramel like they put on the McDonalds' Sundae (at least when I still ate ice cream they had a hot caramel option). I think I've read that I'll need to add a little sweetner to it...

Can someone PLEASE tell me which Butterscotch to get from Natures Flavor! I sent the a question, and got this response:
"Hello, Thank you for contacting Nature's Flavors customer service. We apologize but we do not support E-cigarettes. Therefore, we cannot address your questions. Thank you for your cooperation.
If you have any further questions or concerns contact the number listed below or reply back via email. Have a great day!
Best Regards,
Sonia

I'm not sure if this is for liability reasons, or a company ethics policy... Anyway - will someone please tell me which Butterscotch they use? Is it the one for high temps? There were like six options... Thank you, Thank you, Thank you in advance.

Those are the ones used in e-liquids.

I'm not sure why they said they can't answer it unless they changed their policy lately. I know they've answered other's questions about using them for vaping before no problem. Weird.

Well, with the case of Nature's Flavors...the minimum size is 1 ounce. That's a lot of flavor without knowing if you like it or not. High Desert is gonna have 3mL, 10mL and 30mL options for the NF...and even the 30mL (1 ounce) size is gonna be cheaper than through NF since they charge ridiculous shipping.

The FW Caramel Candy is definitely more of a caramel sauce/chewy caramel candy type of flavor, rather then most of the others I've tried that didn't even come close to that mark. Str8v8ping has a nice Caramel Sauce recipe somewhere that I'm sure you'd enjoy.

I have tried others. One was Lorann's and I think the other was TPA. I tried and tried, but couldn't get anything good from them. The NF is great - just like a butterscotch candy. If you've tried the butterscotch from Vaperite or COV, then you'll know what to expect.

The flavors you want to get are the flavors for coffee beans. If you hover over 'Flavors, Organic & Natural', then hover (don't click) over 'organic flavors', then click on 'flavors for coffee beans' you'll get to the section that you need. There you'll find 3X Butterscotch.
Here's the link to that one:

I've gotten my NF from One Stop DIY Shop, but I'm glad to see High Desert will be getting them too. The more choices the better! I've never directly purchased from NF because they don't have sample sizes, and their shipping cost is pretty high. I think the smallest size they offer is 2 oz. for $12. They say they don't support e-cigarettes, huh? Check out their description on some of the flavors: "Natures Flavours Organic Coffee & Tea Flavoring Systems are water soluble, in addition they will mix into Glycerin, and Propylene Glycol solutions even better than our Organic Flavor Extracts." ;)

Sometimes it is less expensive to buy from a vendor, rather than the manufacturer. The reason is because the vendors can buy in bulk and see a significant savings. A normal DIYer probably wouldn't be able to use all the flavor from a bulk purchase. One thing that has always annoyed me about Capella's is that you only have two choices when it comes to the amount of flavor you want - 13 ml or 4 oz. High Desert has small sample sizes and a nice 1 oz. size (under the name "Ella's") once you've figured out what you like.

Wishdog, which caramel are you using? I think TPA has 3 different caramels, and one of them has corn syrup as an ingredient. Maybe that's what you don't like?

That's really good to know. I haven't bought directly from NF either. They do offer 1oz for $8, but when I went to make an order I found that the shipping was ridiculous (at least it is if you're only ordering a few flavors). I got mine from Vaperite, but they don't have much of a selection. Also, they've been out of the butterscotch for a while, so I was thinking that I might have to order more from NF at some point. Hopefully OSDIY or HD will have it when it's time.

1: Inawera Morning Rain
2: VZ RealCig
3: Inawera Menthol Tobacco
4: FlavourArt WaterMelon
5: FlavourArt Energy Drink

These are close to be followed by: FlavourArt Vanilla Tahity, Inawera Golden Ducat

And Ashtray from Inawera base, but this doesn't qualify for flavor

At what precentage are you using Morning Rain? To me its a little weak.
