LOL! i hate the frito tobacco! ive stopped purchasing tobaccos for that exact reason. i ran into 1 too many frito tobaccos. what is with that?!

Excellent idea! Caramel is going in the number one spot since you mentioned it and I use a drop or two in numerous recipies ;)

Top 5 picks
1. FW Caramel Candy (not by itself, but use it in everything 1-2%)
2. FA Balck Hoeny tobacco (6-8%)
3. FW Coffee (5-9%)
4. FW Banana (5-6%)
5. FW Spearmint (8%)

I have a slew of other flavors and enhancers. But so far I am loving Flavor West for fruit flavors. Its hard for me to make a top 10, but those 5 stand out for me.

Bottom 3 (wont buy again)
1. FW Ankara tobacco (Straw, hay, outdoors)
2. FA Perique Black (too dry and scratchy)
3. TFA DK Tobacco (comes off like fritos to me)

I dont know... I figure since we are working with artificial food flavors, these companies 'mix this with that' and try to come close to what they think a tobacco should/might taste like.

The last few days I have been working with various tobacco flavors. Adding small nuances. So little, that they arent identifable and blend with the tobacco perfectly.

Ive also been playing with TW's gold standard tobacco concentrate and having great results with it at 12%. Ive been able to lay other flavors over it and make some nice variations.

Nice to see more input!

Thank you everyone for the suggestions! I am anxious to start playing. I think I'm a little limited because I seem to be having a little reaction to the PG (acne - and I have NEVER had acne!), also- my teeth have been sensitive.. I hope it's just from the PG... That's another reason I wanted to try Nature's Flavor - isn't it minus the PG?

Anyway - I'm going to begin playing... See if maybe I can just cut down the PG (maybe 30-70?) and get back to normal.. No matter what I am NOT going back to smoking... but I sure do like being able to vape all the yummy deserts that I don't eat....

Adding Lorann Creme de Menthe...but that's probably because it's the only mint I have. it's my favorite since it doesn't have to steep. And for those who would want to mix it and don't feel like guessing which is the right amount, as 20%, 10%, and 1 drop per ml were all listed here on the forums, I find that 32 drops into 9ml is about the strength you'd expect from a premixed liquid.

Yeah, drops. So sue me. These were drops from a 1ml cheapo flexible plastic pipette. No clue on how many ml that is.

1. Cool Mint-Cap
2. Dutch Chocolate Mint-Cap
3. Chocolate Coconut Almond-Cap
4. Double Chocolate-Cap
5. Hypermint-Bluemist flavoring
6. Hazelnut-Cap
7. Mint Candy-TFA
8. Doublemint Gum-FW
9. French Vanilla-Cap
10. Cinnamon Danish-Cap

I've used TFA, FW and Capellas wins hands down. Waiting on some Nature's Flavor that I hope will be as good as Capellas, if not better.

I spent about $200+ on some Capella flavors. I like that they don't have to steep, if you want to vape right away. I don't think I got any of their mint flavors... I'm going to have to add that. I like to have a "minty kick" to some of my flavors.

@ echofinder - I got acne about 5 weeks into vaping. I'm not convinced that I didn't get some on my hands a accidentally rub my face. I have super sensitive skin. I read somewhere that Vitamin C would help... I should have thought of that since I own a small herbal store. So, on Friday I added 2000mg of Vitamin C, and a Zinc supplement to my daily intake.. In two days I've seen a HUGE difference! I REALLY didn't want to give up my yummy flavors that I bought from vendors... I refused to! Now, I'm going to see how it works out..

I'm am putting together a list of flavors now... I have got some GREAT ideas from everyone's responses. Keep them coming!

Top:

1. toasted almond (TFA)
2. cucumber (FA)
3. honeywood tobacco (FW)
4. rose candy (TFA)
5. huckleberry (TFA)
6. Marlboro (China)
7. hickory smoke (TFA)
8. acai (FW)

echofinder,
Are you mixing these as stand alone or mixed with other things. Also, what percentages. I love the TFA Rose Candy at about 7%. It seems perfect. But I have to mix TFA Irish Cream (Another favorite of mine) at about 12%. I have the huckleberry but haven't mixed it yet, so I'd like to know where to start.
Thanks,
Dawn

Dawn:

Some I mix standalone, mostly it is mixes. Rose candy I found is best for me at about 20% - I like a very strong rose blast.

Huckleberry is VERY strong: I usually do 10-12% for a strong fruity flavor. A few drops of huckleberry will add *oomph* to milder fruit/berries like dragonfruit, but will just as quickly overpower them. A 75/25 mix of huckleberry and cucumber at 15% will make a wicked juice indeed! Based on the two recipes you provided I assume you tend to lighter flavoring: huckleberry may be best at 5% for you: it is quite potent.

Toasted almond is very flavorful but a lot of it is required to bring out the true taste. I mix it 80/20 with peanut butter for a deep nutty juice. I mix it with tobacco flavors (usually marlboro) 60/40 to augment those as well. Note that 60% almond will still be subservient to the 40% of most any tobacco.

Honeywood tobacco I use at 8-12%: I like it strong but the scent is unpleasant to some (though others liken it to black & mild). Marlboro I keep at about 10%. Both with heavy doses of tobacco absolute.

Hickory smoke is, like, the strongest flavor produced. I like it solo, most don't. Add 3-4 drops to nutty or savory flavors for a strong accent. Obviously, one drop too much and it will overpower anything. I like it with vanillas as well.

Acai is another great taste, but so... "deep" I guess that I tend to use a lot. 15-20% maybe. I do a huckleberry/acai/cucumber mix that tastes like organic sweet-tarts. 60/20/20 acai, huckleberry, cucumber respectively.

Cucumber itself has little "flavor" but much "note", just like a real cucumber. It adds a fresh, crisp aspect to anything: I liken it to the first deep breath of Spring air in the morning. It will never overpower anything but will bring out a fresh/crispness in fruit and berry flavors.

Just for some background info, quite a while back I spoke to one of the chemists at Nature's Flavors about them having a line of flavors specifically for vaping. He said he tried to find information on the safety of inhaling flavorings and couldn't find anything definitive, and was very leery of being the target of a lawsuit based on the pervasive greed in society and considering flavoring was their sole product, it would basically take them down if they did get sued. I assured him that there were a bunch of other companies doing it already and making a nice profit with no problems, but he was very hesitant to even consider it. He finally agreed if there was enough interest he might consider a small trial run of a vaping friendly line. (smaller sizes, standardized mixers, etc.) I posted it here on ECF and the reaction was less than enthusiastic, so it just died off. (People already used their coffee flavors line for vaping and didn't see a need for any changes I guess) I just figured it would make it more convenient to buy a broader selection of smaller bottles cheaper, but not too many others did. So sounds like they are still nervous about getting a lawsuit I'd guess?

At what precentage are you using Morning Rain? To me its a little weak.

Oops didn't see this question ... I add 8-12 drops on 5 ml for the morning rain. But yes it's a very weak flavor. My favorite menthol is for 5 ml
- 8 drops morning rain
- 4 drops menthol tobacco
- 1 drop menthol (from crystals I have)

And as I assume you have morning rain, try it with the Dirty base if you have it. Or if you order again, pickup a bottle of the dirty base with the ashtray flavor

ive worked with TW Patroit Range to great success. the state express 555 was fantastic ;) however, my next batch will have trimethyl pirizine (sp?) added for some extra oomph. its too bad they cancelled the Patroit Range. that was a real money-saver.
i just got a PIF of TW blueberry tobacco patroit range so im gonna try that one out too. maybe 12% would be good i guess. i dont wanna be overloaded with blueberry.

Which brand? I have TPA and Capella's and am not totally satisfied with either. They're better when mixed together, but I'd still like to find something else.

I'm with you Leothwyn. I also have both, and find that they are both missing something. Maybe that salty taste of creamy peanut butter?

Also, just in the event anyone wanted to know how to "super steep" their juice:
I've been playing - using my Capella, TPA, and Lorann flavors. I know in the past - any time I used the TPA or Lorann I had to let them steep for at least a week... WELL - I saw somewhere that someone used their ultrasonic jewerly cleaner. I have a Brookstone Ultrasonic Jewelry Cleaner! So, I mixed, put my plastic bottles in the cleaner with just enough water to match what was in the bottles (so my bottles don't float), and I turned that baby on! It goes a max of 8 minutes per "cleaning cycle". I think I ran 10 eight minute cycles. The water heats up just by the ultrasonic vibration.. I let them cool, and I can vape them right away. No perfume taste or smell! That saves me from being impatient for 1-2 weeks!

Here is the cleaner I'm talking about:
Ultrasonic Jewelry Cleaners at Brookstone

It is $50, but if you are impatient like I am - it's worth it! I'm sure your local Brookstone store will also have them.
I'd be careful if steeping with glass bottles.. Since it vibrates everything, it may cause a less-than-perfect bottle to fracture.

Good luck everyone!
Keep the flavors coming! I'm trying to put together a shopping list!
