I wanted to start this thread to get a feel for the most used 18650 battery out at this time. And if you want to, please post a reason why, a link to tests done to your battery of choice, etc...
I have
I currently have the purple eFest in my mech mod and I have a Sony VTC5 in my regulated device. I made the choice of using unprotected batteries and went with IMR due to the safer chemistry. The IMR batteries do not vent as violently as the ICR batteries from what I have read. Just be safe guys. No your battery amp limit and your resistance at all times. If you have a 0.5Ω build on there, and let's say a freshly charged battery (4.2 Volts) on a mech mod that has no voltage drop...then take 4.2 and divide it by your build (0.5Ω) and you get 8.4. So 8.4 Amps is what will be drawn from your battery.

Anyway , so what 18650 are you using in your device(s)?

Provari's used in all three modes with either a KFL+ (1.5 ohm) or cartotanks (2.5 ohm):

AW 18350 IMR 700 mah
AW 18490 IMR 1100 mah
AW 18650 IMR 2000 mah

2 Silver Bullet mechanical mods with RDA @ 0.6 ohms:

Sony VTC4 18650 2100 mah
Sony VTC5 18650 2600 mah

I use only safe-chemistry high-drain IMR batteries. I've had the best performance and longivity with the AW brand, after also having experience with Panasonic and Efest. I'm still using a couple of AW 18650 batteries in my rotation which are over two years old and just now starting to show their age with declining life per charge. It's been worth the extra couple of dollars for the AW's. Purchased the Sony's when I decided to experience sub-ohm builds due to their reputation as the best 30 amp battery on the market. I like a lot of safety headroom and the Sony's give me that with my builds.

LG he2s in my RTA mechs (at 0.7-0.8 ohms) - sometimes I use my Panasonic PFs when at home, Samsung 20Rs for spares when I'm on the go. Sony vtc4s with my drippers (0.4-0.5 ohms). Efest purple 18350 (yes, not an 18650) in my Hammer with a Kayfun 3.1 (0.8 ohms).

My 18650 arsenal currently consists of AW IMR 1600mah and Panasonic CGR18650CH.

I don't do any crazy sub-ohming and stay within the 10A limit on the Pannys, so I'm perfectly content to stick with what I have, but they're all getting a little "long in the tooth" so some will be getting replaced soon. I'll likely upgrade the Pannys to something else as I replace them, the AWs will be replaced with more AWs since they've proven to be great performers over the long term

I switched from Panasonic CGR's that I've used for well over a year to LG HE2's now for my REO Grand. I would've went with the VTC5's but too many problems out there with them for now. Maybe if they ever get it sorted out I will try them. My LG's last on average of 10-12hrs w/ .4-.6Ω dual coils. Great batteries...
