I was thinking the other day and realized that many of our less tech savy members may have little or no idea what broken parts are usefull to modders and why, so I thought I'd write up a quick list of the most usefull.
Modders should feel free to add anything I miss:
Attomizers:
The only atomizers that are usefull after they die (unless your skilled at rebuilding them) are the M40X series atomizer and the 510 atomizer. The threads on these are opposite of each other so the connector from a 510 atty can be used to make a M40X mod, and the M40X atty can be used to make a 510 mod.
The only thing that I've found that the other can be used for is if you want one of the LED Atty flashlights, (an atty with a led inside it that you can connect to your batt to make your PV batt a flashlight. Cute but mostly useless)
<edit>
The 901 is usefull to make 4081 mods and the 4081 are good for making 901 mods.
Batterys:
All batterys can be used to make a mod of the same type:
Dead 510 bats make 510 mods, KR808/901 batts make KR808/901 mods.
For the most part if a battery is dead the only usefull part is the connector, and in some instances the LED at the tip. After removal of the connector it is the responsibility of the modder to properly dispose of the Li/Ion batt core. These are considered hazardous waste and SHOULD NEVER BE THROWN IN THE TRASH!!!!!!
Passthroughs and battery chargers
Even if the internal wiring of the passthrough can not be repaired, the connector can be reused for mods or DIY passthroughs.
The chargers, and passthrough models with an inline battery can be used to make mods that will charge their own batterys (3.7V only)
Cartos
510 cartos can be used to make M40X mods, but are more dificult to remove than the 510 attys.
Other cartos are not usefull unless you can rebuild them.
I think that pretty much covers it. Like I said, if I missed anything, feel free to pipe in and let us know.
