I quit smoking completely four days before I started vaping. Well, I bought my first e-cig after work on day 4. I didn't even care what kind it was, I just was desperate because the cravings were driving me up the wall. The ecig did it for me. Coming up to 5 months smoke free soon. No-one is more amazed than me.

B - It took me a few days to completely give up the cigs, but right away, I felt like this could work. I decided to have a cig when I felt I really needed one, which was only a few times a day, and I kept pushing that first one of the day further and further off. After a few days, I never got around to lighting up that first one, and that was that. I did carry a pack of cigarettes around with me for a while, just so I'd know they were there, and each day it felt better and better to just look at them and say, "No thanks!"

The above experience just re-enforced the experienced vapor's soundest advice: "Have a backup for your backup, and a backup for that backup..." You can never have too many charged up batteries.

You should see me travel. Provari with two batteries, vtube with two batteries, a kgo, and minimum one filled tank per day I am gone and three new cartos and a 10ml bottle. I take no chances

I'm in the B category. I tapered-off. After three weeks I was done with stinkies. I still have half a pack for nostalgia. I smoked, er, lit one about 3 months after quitting completely and quickly disposed of it. 1-1/2 years and going!

I still have six in my laptop bag. They have been there for months.

I'm mostly A, I guess a B since I did have a couple here and there that I lit and hated. I think I had two full cigs.

A. I actually put out my last cig when the postman was rounding the corner with my first order. Odd part, I had no intention of giving up smoking. I just wanted to see how it was. I wonder if I would of fallen into another category if I had the intention of quitting.

What, no more F's here?

I'm one of those people that started with e-cigs in the early days when they still were rubbish. Loved the technology I guess. They didn't work for me, I didn't put them aside but full time smoking took over again. Later came the eGo's, Riva's and whatever have you. Still felt the need for the real stuff and I smoked as ever before (2 PAD), using these e-cigs with the thought "every cigarette not smoked is a victory." Still think that way. And I gradually got from smoking the prefabricated stuff to roll your own tobacco. I notice that I don't inhale those as much as I used to do, I smoke it more like a cigar (no inhaling). That way, they taste pretty good. These days I'm pretty impressed by my VMax and T2 and E2 tanks which come pretty close to the real thing. I try to get to a 50/50 ratio cig/e-cig wise. And after that, who knows...

F. I usually smoke about 1/3 PAD, down from an original 1 1/4. The only reasonable definition of 'ratio' I can find is .33/1.25 = .26, so I've cut down on smoking 74%.

I'm about 5 months into it, so I could end up being one of the other categories. Especially since I'm now trying a quitting technique I learned years ago, only combined with vaping: Change brands further and further from your old brand, lighter and if possible nastier, ending up with menthol if you used to be regular, and vice-versa. So this is my week to buy a pack of menthols to smoke when I get a craving. If I can keep to that, it might well do it, since I HATE menthols.
