what causes the wick/coil to have pops and blast juice all over?

( i dont think its normal because ive seen many people vape without having this and their flavor and cloud is awesome )

i just wana know what causes this so i can prevent it.
( one thing is fosure that my coils isnt burning centre out.. its slightly to the left.. cant manage to make it centre out. ) ( the heating is definitely even! just the starting point of the heat is slightly left )

My thoughts are moisture. VG absorbs moisture, that's why we vapors need to drink more water.

Each time I leave an RDA sit overnight that has been used, soon as I pick it up and fire it, snap crackle pop, then normal.

When it was very humid around here, it was worse.

Or even a coil that has shards of who knows what pokin' off it from the specific build, that send fluxy flyin' the combination is fantastic! :D

I wish I knew...
One thing for sure (at least for me): water. For a while I was using water to thin VG (instead of PG). If I put too much water (more than 12-15%) I was getting this popping. I believe most (all?) "100%" VG juices are made with water, so it may be a problem.
I stopped vape water a while ago, so there was no popping for me, but recently I rewicked my tank... The same old coil, the same cotton pad, the same bottle of juice, just different shape of a wick. And popping. Already for a week. Anybody knows why?..

Well I would first ask, what gear are you using? What mod? What tank?

The theory is that voids in the wick are trapping air which when heated causes the pop. Any juice within the 'blast' radius is then splattered.
The popping is most likely to occur after installing a new wick.
Normally, after the mod is fired 5-4 times the popping goes away.

Basically, the best I can tell, is that most of the time when there is popping its due to an isolated drop of juice sitting directly on the surface of the coil. Think of heating a dry frying pan up and then splashing a small amount of water on the surface. The water forms little droplets that seem to dance around the frying pan, they eventually pop and evaporate. Apply this idea to coils and juice and this could be one of the issues. Another issue that I might theorize is that if your power is too low or too high for the coil setup you are running, it could be a contributing factor.

Wait, you say my theory of moisture is 'not really' , right after, you say when you were thinning with water, you had popping. o_O

Alrighty then. :)

You was talking about absorption of water (minor thing), I was talking about adding water. Quite different quantities. And with 10% or less of water I did not have popping.

In my experience it's simply too much juice on the coil. The excess juice gets heated, a bubble forms, ruptures with a pop which throws hot juice up and out. I find that it happens with the first hit on my Sub Tank Mini after it's been sitting for a while. You can either reduce the wicking efficiency by making it tighter, or using a thicker juice. You can also mitigate the effects by firing it on the way up to and before it reaches your mouth.

Did you fill your tank after midnight? It's one of the three cardinal rules. Don't get your mod wet, don't fill your tank after midnight and never expose it to sunlight. That spitting is your mod/atty trying to spit out little evil set ups. If one grows to full strength, it will ruin your holidays.

Depends on you build. I have just now noticed that a tight coil will pop more that ever because you are letting the juices basically cook on the coil. I just spaced my coils out last night and it has improved flavor and vapor production. I do not know the reasoning behind this I just know it worked for me. No popping or inhaling juice anymore.
