Hello all,

I ordered some Vivi Nova replacement coils from an online retailer last week. When I got my order in the mail, I realized they sent me the wrong item. The good news is, I contacted them and they are sending me the correct coils and are allowing me to keep the ones they sent me by mistake. The bad news is, I have no idea what clearomizer they go with. Can anyone help me identify them please?

The below picture is what I sent to the retailer so they could see what I ordered versus what they sent to me. The left hand coild is the Vivi Nova coil, but what is the one on the right?

Thanks!

I got some of the pointy ones from a vendor when I ordered Vivi Nova heads. I threw a fit, since they were flat like the ones I was used to. (I think they are for the CE5, which ever the rebuildable one is.) They gave me a refund and told me to keep the heads. It turns out they actually work in the vivi.

-------- ce5 or ce4

That is what I thought from looking at pictures online, but I wasn't sure.

How did you get them to work with the Vivi Nova? I have the 2.5 ml and 3.5 ml versions and I can't get the top screwed on tight with either of them using that coil.

looks just like my smok redux ones they only differ from the ce5's a tiny bit on the top and bottom what vendor did you get them from? seeing what they sell would defiantly help narrow it down some.

I got the coils from apolloecigs.com

they only have CE4's and vivis that have wicks so its defiantly ce4 wicks then.

Thanks everyone for the help! Are the CE4 / 5 worth buying to use the 3 coils I have now that fit them? Are they worse, the same or better than the vivi novas (which I love). Also, I am assuming I will need some type of adapter to get them to fit my 510 batteries?

@Ocelot - I'm still curious to know how you got those coils to fit in your vivi nova.

Maybe mine were different. They had a pointy top, but screwed on the same way as the flat vivi heads. These are what I got:

I was having some difficulty discerning in the photo, it looks like the RH coil (with the pip on top) has a slotted connection on the bottom similar to the LH Vivi Nova coil?

Vision rebuildable CE4/5 heads have this slot, the coil is (more or less) identical to those from a standard vivi nova, only the pip on top is different.

The Smoktech ReDux coils have the same pip on top, but the bottom connector is not slotted, has only the single hole at the center.

This becomes important if you have both Vision and Redux clearos, because the heads are interchangeable in one direction only (at least with the parts I have).

Both Vision and Redux heads will work on a Redux base, threads are compatible, and the airflow passage isn't blocked.

A Redux head, not having the slotted bottom, doesn't have much if any airflow if you attach it to a vision base.

The only real difference is the bottom connector, which is actually interchangeable between both types (you can make a Redux head a vision head by swapping the bottom connector).

Hope this helps.

I didn't see the question answered. CE4/5 and some even call them CE4 V3 (seriously I wish they would start standardizing the names of the hardware--it would reduce the learning curve a bit) are good if you like clearomizers. I've not tried a vivi nova yet--though I do plan on eventually buying one as soon as my vape budget allows (I try to keep it under 30 bucks every two weeks and at around 14 bucks a pop thats half by bi-weekly budget)--I can't really compare them to the Vivi Novas.

That said, I do like them, though in my experience they do not play well with high VG juices--all my 50/50s need to go into the Kangers. I would say that buying one or two of the rebuildable CE4s (sometimes called CE5 sometimes called CE4 V3) is worth the 7 bucks.

I've come to the conclusion that you are entirely screwed unless you always by the replaceable heads for any Vivi Nova, CE4, CE5, CE6, and anything else they''d like to brand their generic clearos from the same place you bought the unit. Even if it has a Vision logo on it, it doesn't matter. Every single vendor that I've bought these things from have a slight difference, usually height of post or head. Even the cap and cone coming out of the cap are flat, more triangular, or longer. Arg!

Common differences are notches on the bottom where it makes contact with a solid post vs no notches and airflow through the middle where it makes contact with a hollow post. I prefer the latter. I can buy replaceable heads from venders that claim "genuine ViVi Nova" and genuine Vivi Nova replacement heads all day long and they aren't going to fit at all or fit with imperfection that makes for leakage.

It sucks. There is no standardization committee. Who's gonna stop them from etching a V on the side?
Just find a vendor you like and always order from the same place.

So far my favorite clearomizer is the Vision V3 with 1.8 ohm coil. Mine has 510 threads.
For me it has the most throte hit and vapor.
I am using 50/50 and 80/20 PG/VG menthol juice.
I also have a mini Vivi Nova and an EVOD. Both of these have more air flow than I like. I block a hole in both.
The Vivi Nova is close. I have a 2.4 ohm coil in it now but plan to try a 1.8 ohm.

If you get CEx / Stardust / Redux, just get them 510 threaded.

Obviously user experience varies, but I use the CEx's rather than Vivis, as I've had better luck with them. YMMV. If you like your vivis, by all means stick with them.

Have you tried swapping the top part between the coils? Use the beveled Vivi silicon piece on the other coil.
