OK, I lied. I've just been too busy to log in here lately. I have been busy though. I've found a few more back roads, and know plenty of ways to get to the coast now. I've also been noting the food that is available in more areas. I bought a few crawdad traps that would supply enough food for about three people per day. (We've been eating a lot of them this summer.) New food sources will have to be found soon because they aren't going to be around much longer now that we're moving towards winter.

Aint that the truth. I've been busy as a one legged zombie trying to score bath salts lately...
I did score a flip top head edition of The Walking Dead, bought a 87 Super Magna, a wolf hybrid, taken on a job that's made it into Wired magazine's online newsfeed (with a sizable pay bump)... Yeah, a lil' busy too. I can't say that I've made much progress in the way of zombie preparedness. I'm still counting on my 'rock and a really good hiding place' plan to get my heavy armament in place along with other consumables. With any luck, the ZA will hold off for a bit longer. ;)

What's been going on with everyone else?

I took The Walking Dead's "which character are you" test. My son says I'm Daryl, but the test said I was Dale. Funny thing though, because I'm starting to shop for motor homes. The prices are wayyyyy down. I'm assuming because of the economy.

I've always wanted to live in a converted school bus, but with the prices are just too good to not consider a motor home now. I can eventually get the bus and already have the equipment to to convert it out of the motor home. The eventual plan will to have a small piece of land along my favored "get the hell out of Dodge" route, and park it there because there's no way I'm going to try to compete with apocalyptic traffic in it, lol.

Between the two, I'd say to stick with the school bus. They're designed to stand up to children on the inside and an angry, underpaid driver... The suspension travel alone puts it head and shoulders above a traditional RV. I might consider a re-enforced slide in if I could lay hands on a 3/4 ton diesel although you'd be looking at similar mileage out of a school bus with all the extra capacity. Yeah, school bus wins especially considering all the spare parts that would be available vs finding just the right part on an RV. Unless your name is Eddie in which case you HAVE to have an RV! Get something nice for yourself as well ;0

I've always been in favor of a school bus because of the safety requirements for them. Plus they have things like automatic chains. I've been considering propane because most buses are being converted to natural gas or propane in my area, but diesel would be really nice to have when SHTF. But mostly safety. This story is tragic, but it most likely would have been a 100% fatality if the children were in a motor home.

As for what I did today ... I got a bedroll for my son.

Well, as of yesterday at noon, I'm between projects for work. I also mailed out my Form 1 yesterday to build an SBR. Starting with a stock Ruger 10/22 I've given it a decent trigger job, added a large paddle mag release, KIDD charging handle(very, very nice product), an AIM quad rail, and Butler Creek folding stock. When I get my form 1 back in four or five months, I'll order a Tactical Innovations 8" finned/threaded barrel and make a nice compact rifle for whatever may come.

I got married.
I worked 90 zillion hours.
I watched the first 3 seasons of "The walking dead" in 3 days.
I'm just about done watching "Breaking Bad" seasons 1-4.
I pwnd Diablo 3
I went to NJ to visit family.
I broke the laws of nature at any opportunity.
I schemed on the best damned post apocalyptic casino you ever dreamed of.

I would have done more but there are only 24 hours in a day.

My comment on the walking dead? Shane is a douche. (Also, I now know why you guys were giggling when I named the zombies "shamblers". lol)

Wahoo Mac! Congrats! I am assuming she is "alive" and beautiful.
Not "undead" and chained up in your casino...

But, either way, Congrats! I wish you all the best, while the world still exists...

You say "Alive" and "Chained up" as if the two were mutually exclusive. She's my long time sweetheart. Here is a photo from a quiet moment:

If she is undead she is doing a good job of simulating a heartbeat. It's seems to burn eternally for moi..

While I was out and about yesterday before the vapemeet, I managed to find an airline safe rifle case and 2 10/22 factory mags for $65, and a new 18650 li-ion flashlight with luxeon LED, three operation modes, and the ability to charge 18650(or smaller, with spacers), batteries off of either a cigarette lighter adapter or a wall plug. Overally, some neat gear for a total of $100 spent.

Today I fell back ON the face of the Earth... After a year or so back on the cancer sticks, buying a house, loosing a job, getting another one that actually pays more than the last... I'm back to vaping again! Apologies for the disappearing act but it looks like DV fell back ON as well and took back over. *Whew!* At least I'm not responsible any more and no I don't ever want the job back again. So the good news is, a local shop brought me back up to speed in the vaping world and I was surprised at how far things have come in the last year. I'm sporting an itaste MVP2 now and loving the VVVW with a battery pack that can charge my crappy windows phone long enough to survive an 8 hour work day. Pyro tanks that don't cost as much as a carton of cigarettes?!? Crazy talk I say! Now all I have to do is order a few bottles of Fire and Ice and all will be right in the world again.

Unlife... as we know it!

Yep. Down to used up old cliché's around here. I don't remember you posting much when 'I" was last around. Anything much change besides the originator coming back? I'm actually glad he did, moderating is a full time job and I only have about 3-4 hours a day to keep the fiancé, cat, dog, and myself entertained these days! Oh, and the house. Can't make the house mad or it'll start bleeding. I miss the days when money instead of time fixed things.
