no there is no buzz, there is only "relief" for those of us who are addicted to nicotine and that is why we go "awwwww" when we take a hit.

ok, i'm just going to change my last response.

E-cig give you a massive BUZZ, i'm vapin' now and i feel like i'm all junk'd up, i can't even walk, i can't stop laughing and i just pee'd myself.

I can't believe how many of you feel nothing when smoking. Can you not remember how long it takes for the nicotine hit feeling to go away?

Honey - you're asking people who smoked for 5-40 years how long it took before we stopped feeling the 'buzz' and started smoking to feel normal....

Sorry, but my memory's fuzzy that far back.....I smoked for, oh, 20-25ish years, give or take a couple dozen quit attempts...

I wish you the best of luck in your up and coming addiction.. hope it sucks as much as mine did.

Hey Rio, Maybe I do know what you are calling a Buzz. A couple of weeks ago, I took a drag off of my Dad's Full Flavor Winston 100. It hit me instantly, I was dizzy and thought my head was going to explode.... Is that what you mean? I think if I wanted to replicate that feeling, I might just go huff on the propane tank on the grill. Really, It wasn't anything I would have called a buzz. The nicotine from my e-cig is nothing like that.

Mind you as a smoker, I bummed from him on occasion. His cigarettes never affected me like that.

When I was about 15 I was in the hospital for a concussion when he found out I was smoking. I guess I had them in my pocket. I remember him in my hospital room telling me "It's a nasty habit". That was it. Now he's 75 years old with COPD, and has tried to quit after 55 years of smoking. He finally realizes, it's not just a habit, HE is an addict.

Writing this, I remember when I was a kid and would swipe a smoke from his pack. For a second there, I remembered the taste of the tobacco... when my taste buds still worked. That doesn't last long either.

You have given away your age by not remembering the tobacco trials. Big tobacco paid out all that money because it was disclosed that they added chemicals to the cigarettes to make them more addictive. I wish I had been smoking JUST tobacco all those years.

I hope in 35 years you have completly forgotten about this and don't remember a bunch of nicotine addicts telling you not to mess with the stuff. Best of luck to you.

It wouldn't be quite the same for you. Head rush is caused by carbon monoxide and 4000 other chemicals on top of the nicotine. E-cig is closer to chewing tobacco

Hm. I've chewed tobacco (or at least tried), and it grossed me out for all kinds of reasons. I don't see the similarity.

Hi Rio, let me tell you a short story. I started smoking when I was 14. I remember the fun head rush and I also remember coughing and choking and having to learn to smoke. I was pretty cool. I smoked when I could get them, usually from machines, friends or my mother's purse. As I grew older I bought my own, went from a couple a day to a pack a day then over a pack a day. I smoked for 44 years. I was in an accident and in the hospital awhile and actually quit for 4 years. (I guess I'm giving away my age here). Anyway, I became bored, angry, depressed, whatever. I chose to start smoking again. I can't say why, just that I remembered how I loved smoking and how satisfying it felt. There's something in the brain that gives you that pleasure feeling when you smoke. Anyway, I had to relearn again. Yeah, I got the buzz for awhile. I was smoking a half a cig at a time and only smoked 4 or 5 a day. Needless to say within a couple of months I was back up to 15 or 16 a day, coughing and hacking again. Most of my friends don't smoke so I was the only one who had to go outside for a puff and I stunk all the time. I wasn't fooling anyone but myself. Lucky for me I found out about e-cigs. I still smoke a cig once in a while but get no rush. Believe me, you don't want to mess around with nicotine if you aren't addicted. It's just so damn hard to give up. When you're young you never think about what it will be like on your body after all those years of putting that crap into it. It's hell and it never goes away. Please think it over and give up the smoke. Try the e-cig if you must, I do think it's better for you although that's not been proven. Good luck with your decision.

Hello,

I am by no means a heavy smoker. I have been smoking for about two months on and off, and now have one cigarette a day. Every time I smoke I get a head rush and a nicotine buzz that persists for quite a while. Will E-cigarettes give me this same feeling? Is it less satisfying??

Thanks

Do yourself a favor and quit now while you're ahead. Seriously.

My question to you is why are you asking complete strangers on a forum to validate the actions you want to take?

It seams to me you have your mind made up. I have seen your questions answered many times. It just is not the answer you want. If you need validation of your actions you are to young to smoke anything.

-g:D:D

I'm not asking for validation, just honesty.

So with E-cigs you don't even feel the nicotine?? Then what's the point of them??

Seems like these weren't the awesome alternative I was looking for :(

But if I switch to E-cigs and get addicted, whats the problem?

Do none of you remember the way it *felt* to begin smoking? When you stoppped getting that feeling, why did you continue to smoke?

I don't understand the criticism and backlash this thread has received. I believe E-cigarettes have practically no health risks. If you still get the buzz of a cigarette with no health risks, whats the problem?

I'm not just asking till I find the answer I want. I was under the impression that nicotine gave smokers a feeling. Most of you don't seem to tell me anything either for or against that, but instead just tell me to not smoke.

So to confirm: Nobody here feels anything when E-smoking except satisfaction from withdrawals?
This isn't rocket science here.

The nicotine buzz will drop off significantly once your body gets used to it.
Exactly the same as pretty much any other drug in the world.
And eventually, it will go away.

So yeah, I doubt much of anyone here feels a buzz.
