My current plan is to purchase in the near future a provari with 18650 cap, a dna20 mod, and a decent 18650 mechanical. The three will serve different purposes, but also, just to play with all three for awhile and see which direction I want to go.

however, I keep seeing hints at new devices coming soon that will compete directly / outcompete the current kings of the regulated hill.

my biggest concern where the dna and provari intersection is, PWM vs dc signal delivery.

I am vaping on a 33.3 regulated device, and it's ok. Not great, but ok.

I would not be interested, for example, in an upgraded 33.3 device that could go to 30 watts. Frankly, I wouldn't care if it could sub ohm up to 12 volts if I had to keep the 33.3 hz PWM.

But also, amp limits, maximum amp draw from batteries/ efficiency, etc.

just curious about what is known about all the new devices people keep mentioning tha are going to make evolv and pro vape have to 'up their game'. People say that like they know that the new offerings will have something special..,

After having owned a dna 20 i will say i wasnt impressed. or I should say i was impressed with the quality of the signal but the extra 5 watts didnt seem to be important for the few things it lacked. it seemed to run hotter then the setting and had a real problem with dialing down the power, in my opinion it will not take much to dethrone the DNA20.

the provari is filtered enough to where it is hard to notice the PWM and the semovar does it even better.

it will depend on you these devices are proven, well used and known to be reliable. the only thing worth waiting for is if you really think you will need 6 amp limits or 8 volts from a regulated device. it has always been my opinion high power isnt needed if you build the atty to perform for the device and not the other way around.

then there is the problem of no matter how good a spec sheet looks now the new devices have to actually prove themselves, they wont be cheap and that will curb early adoption. as for the other companies "upping their game"? only one thing will cause that -a lack of sales and right now thats not an issue.

with vaping, just like computers, if your always waiting for whats coming next you will own nothing.

more than 30 watts of output power
output (power/voltage) adjustable in 0,1 increments
graphic display (with automatic turning for left handed and right handed people)
motion sensor for changing the settings
touch sensor or motion activation
accurate power (voltage and current) settings
precise battery and atomizer tester
solid platinum electric contacts throughout the entire mod
single battery design
standard 510 connection
16 seconds cut-off
short circuit protection
electronic reverse battery protection
thermal monitoring system
triple battery monitor with over-current and over-discharge protection
battery profile: continuous battery tester with low battery quality detection
vented system
engraved logo
completely made in Europe

and from EA:
EA INVICTUS

WORLD-WIDE PATENT PENDING It does not work by Ohm’s law. It has a built-in software that provides the right amount of volts. Operating range from 2 to 8.2 volts. Operating ohms from 0.5 to 5.0 ohm. Safe and controlled. Fully automatic so you do not have to do anything else but put your atomizer in place and start vaping or be a pro and choose freely
between 2 and 8.2 volts. Patent pending verification system which ensures that the atomizer gets the specific amount of power. Ours is the only mod that supplies
 DC power.

Gotta love the Invictus - Doesn't work by Ohms Law! They should've called it the outlaw!

How they managed to pull that off is really beyond me! OK - I get it, it doesn't use a simple ohms law calculation to adjust voltage output, but accounts for Vdrop in the atty as well. They really aught to consider hiring a native English speaker to edit their ad copy, though.

What on earth, though, is with the Aero Z??? Motion detector and touch screen? Who the heck needs all that. I'm not really impressed by "more than 30 watts of output power". I'd be more impressed if it had a good clean signal and could handle both buck as well as boost challenges (both of these remain to be seen I guess - maybe it can).

I'm more and more leaning towards just going mechanical and getting it over with. I just really like having a full suite of protective features like a good regulated device comes with. Sure, a safety fuse is nice, but I really like idiot proof for those mornings when one cup of coffee just isn't enough.
