What do you do when all you have is burnt taste. Answer is within.

When I left for work this morning I had a nearly full tank of juice and the carto was only 3 days old. I thought I was good to go. As it turns out, not every carto lasts for 5 of 6 days. Not to long before leaving work I took a vape and there it was. That burnt awful taste that you get when the carto is done for. I thought, 'I'm going to have to make it home without vaping or withstand this taste.'

I carry Listerine. The little plastic container ones that you pop open and it has these little tabs that melt on your toque and freshen your breath immediately. I got use to carrying these when I smoked to freshen my breath. I took one of these to get the burnt taste out of my mouth. After getting going I pulled the PV out and said to myself, 'I can handle one or to vapes of that burnt stuff on the way home.' I was pleasantly surprised when all I could taste was that Listerine tab. I could not taste the vape at all. Even as bad as it was. About 10 or 15 minutes into the drive home I took another Listerine tab to take care of the rest of the drive. Worked like a charm. LOL I guess that means that if I had done this with a good vape I couldn't taste that either.

Now I know what to do when this happens. LOL

Maybe I can use this get rid of some of the juise I have that tastes like yuk. LMAO

Lol, I thought you were going to shove listerine tabs into your carto.

I love/hate when that happens. Sometimes when I vape with gum I'll either get a really good flavor or the worst flavor imaginable. I'll try your idea out with nasty flavors and see how it goes =P

Great idea I rarely use the tabs I do use wisps to brush my teeth through out the day. It works well when I get the burnt flavor and cart less

Probably a good idea to carry a few extra cartos with you. Wouldn't recommend inhaling what your getting from a burnt carto unless you don't care about the health risks associated with inhaling burnt cotton and polyfill.

It sucks when the little cartos sneak in there just when you're about to trust them fully and then WHAM they get ya when you least expect it. You back tract through the of information and find that you forgot what you've learned from others and equip yourself with spares once again.

Thats not a very good idea lol . Your vaping fiberglass polyfill .Thats horrible for your lungs . When a cartos wet your not inhaling the burnt polyfill . Even a slight dry hit is not to bad as it dont happen often and its only one inhale however vaping on burnt polyfill consecutively is really bad . I dont see the point even since polyfill doesnt contain nic .

I used to get jumped on regularly by just mentioning "burnt carto / polyfill / etc .. now we have a lengthy thread on just that issue and plenty of pics to show ...

Cartos are not all created equal .. some, from the same box, have tanked on me within a few days, some will last 7 days or more .. and I'm pretty careful on filling / topping off ..

When extensive testing starts happening with our friends in DC, I'm sure a burnt carto will somehow slip into the mix .. and the results will show that we are inhaling who knows what ..

Its been my experience that if I get a burnt taste from a carto in a tank of juice, its not wicking right (for whatever reason), a few dry sucks manually pulls the juice up into the carto usually works.

Norman, I do exactly what you're saying and it works well, so I think that's what donnah means.

I noticed the same thing. I'm punching my cartos with the 1/4" saddle valve (from a local hardware store). I think I need to start punching bigger holes for this 50/50 VG/PG juice.

Yep.. that's what I mean. It seems that cartos vary.. some wick with no help, some need a little help and some need lots of help. I think it all has to do with how tightly they are packed. I have fill holes and screws in all of my tanks. When I have a carto that needs help and I feel it is getting a bit on the dry side, I simply take the screw out of the side of the tank and let some air in.. I'll immediately see 2-3 air bubbles coming out of the punched hole in the carto, then I will start seeing air bubbles coming out of the fill hole in the tank.. I only let a couple bubbles come from the tank hole and then put the screw back in.. the carto is noticeably wetter. Letting too much air in the tank WILL cause the carto to flood and the juice will leak out the bottom. so if you do vent your tank, don't let too much air in. Momandpopvaporshop sell the sub tanks, they have o-rings around the grommets that make them nice and snug and air tight, they also have fill holes which make filling a breeze.

I've found that it's all about air pressure inside the tank. Too much and the pressure forces the juice through the carto hole and out the bottom of the carto (flooding/leaking) Too little air pressure inside that tank means that the carto needs help with wicking...dry sucks/pulls and venting through the fill hole fix this situation (until it needs help again) Like I said, some need more help than others...or none at all.
