I see lots of people start out with cigalikes or whatever you want to call them with starter kits like I did, but after you step up to mods and whatever else is in between how do you get your fix when not at home and not wanting to carry your setup around with you? I was thinking about getting a triton tank system just because it seems to be an easy step up into the tanks but would they be considered portable?

Or would you just get some blank cartomizers and fill them with your favorite juice to puff on throughout the day?

If I was in a situation where I couldn't bring my smaller gear, like a spinner and a mini Protank, I could get by with my Blu kit, or a couple of Njoys. I wouldn't be thrilled, but it would suffice.

I just carry what ever I want for the day. Mechs, Provari, MVP2, usually the 1, 2, or three that have the fullest tanks on them. With some extra juice and an extra tank or coil depending. I also carry a little ziplock of cotton in case I need to rewick a rebuildable of some kind. My lunch box for work has taken on the task of Vape Transport and my sandwich or whatever just sits nicely on top of the gear. As for out and about, what ever works for me.

The last 10 years have made me immune to being a social outcast for smoking. I do not care what people think of me vaping, I just do not do it where you are not allowed to smoke.

Surprisingly enough the MVP2 with a Protank or AGA-T2 sits nicely in a shirt pocket.

I take at least 2 full sized mods with 18650 batteries and kayfun and protanks on them (about 8 inches tall and 9 ounces) out and about. I also have a VV usb pass through, extra protank heads, extra wick and wire for rebuilding the kayfun and extra cigalikes with cartos in the car for backups and I keep at least a 30ml of eliquid in my coat pocket. You never know when you might get cut off from home by anti vaping zombies, I mean zeolots.

DO NOT get the triton system, they are private labeling the same stuff everyone else has and jacking the price way way up. Looks to have disposable tanks with low capacity non-variable batteries. For their price yo can get 2 davides, 2 vision spinners and a charger with money left over.......

As far as bang for your buck and being able to move up a level....

ElectronicStix.Com · Kanger EVOD 650mAh Starter Kit

Anyhow if yo do get a kit from someone, get 2 replacable coil atomizers and 2 batteries 650mah or larger and go from there. If yo plan to vape caustic e-juice throw down a few more bucks for the glass tanks.

Ask around, anyone who has been vaping for a while probably has a few items around that they have grown out of that they would be glad to PIF (pay it forward) to a beginner.

Go to a local vape meet and I am pretty sure there are some in Syracuse.

If you know anyone who is vaping sit down with them and ask them about their experiences and rigs...

Odd, there are so many satisfied Triton owners who swear the batteries are different than FastTech specials, because they are...

Initially, most beginners affirm that they're not going to carry their set-up away from home. A lot of this has to do with fear concerning how vaping looks to others and what other people will think about it. It's amazing how quickly this concern evaporates as they become more comfortable vaping.

I wear my Provari on a lanyard around my neck. A close friend newly introduced to vaping stipulated that she would NEVER wear an ecig on a lanyard, use it away from home or vape anything other than menthol.

Gave her two eGo Winders, 1 carto tank, 1 DCT tank, 1 clearmizer, 10 standard cartos, 5 DCT cartos, 1 carto refill tool, 10 drip tip covers for sharing, ("I don't need this! Ain't NOBODY sucking on my ____!"), 1 30ml bottle of menthol and 3 sample bottles (flavors she indicated she might like IF she were to vape flavors).

And a lanyard.

Just in case.

We spent 14 hours together a couple weeks ago. It took a half hour to describe and demonstrate what everything was.

She took to it IMMEDIATELY.

The NEXT half hour consisted of me watching her MIX FLAVORS and try out the tanks and clearmizer.

Shortly after that, she decided it might be best to attach the lanyard, as my friend was CONSTANTLY picking her pv up and putting it down.

The NEXT hour or so consisted of a visit to a vape store where we purchased ANOTHER tank and another bottle of juice.

Fast forward to her job. I'm on the phone listening to this. I hear the person who INSISTED she would never use her device away from home tell the first two co-workers she encountered about her new ecig and ASK them if they wanted to try it.

'nuff said.

When I started I figured I look stupid smoking so I wasn't going to worry about how I looked vaping.

I still have 4 eGo batteries that get little use. My main unit is the SVD, VAMO is backup, and the eGo's backup to the backup. I carry the same eGo case posted in this thread. I can fit the VAMO, 2 18650 batteries, three pre-filled Protank2's and a few spare coils in that case.

So anywhere I go I have at least that case and the SVD. Then for more than one day trips I use an old fanny pack for that case, juice bottles, more batteries and charger.

Best gadget for me was a mod holder for in the car.

I never smoked in a store anyway. I mean what do you do with a cigarette .... in a store? Stick it in the lettuce display?
I had no problem going the 45 minutes it took to fill up a grocery cart without a smoke, so I can do the same with e-cigs.

Back in the days before carto tanks & ProTanks, etc, we did this to carry filled cartos around.
I think I still have a TicTack box hanging around somewhere.
