If you want to stay with a stick battery like the ego, I like the iTaste 3.0 by Innokin. Variable voltage, variable power, LED screen, +/- adjustment buttons, Ohm meter, puff counter, ego and 510 threading, pass thru charging, etc. Can't pack more electronics in a smaller package. The iTaste 3.0 is smaller than a Twist, but as powerful as the Vamo. The Vamo makes an excellent first APV (I should say full sized APV, as the iTaste 3.0 is an APV). Have the V2 and V3 in chrome and the V3 in stainless. The V3 stainless stands tall in the crowd, imo. Hard to believe the V3 stainless is one of the least expensive entry level APV's, because it's one of the best APV's under $100 period, imho. Really have to jump to the sigelei's, maybe the SVD, to upgrade over the Vamo. Even so, the SVD has only a slight edge, if any, over the Vamo. If I had to do it all over again, I would get both the iTaste 3.0 as my backup and out and about batt, and the V3 stainless as my go to, light saber batt. It's all subjective, fun to shop, but confusing and often a bit overwhelming. My two cents on a totally subjective matter. Best to you!

I agree that the EVOD's are quite nice, particularly at this price point, though the Protank or Davide Glassomizer is the top clearo on the market at the moment, both being quite nice bottom coil devices. Again, subjective.
