That's a fine set of gear. Not sure about the longevity of the iStick 50W (only because they've been available for, like, a cup of coffee), but the subtank will allow you to use either premade or self-built coils, so maximum flexibility there. For that I'd choose it over the Atlantis.

An alternative for the iStick might be the IPV Mini V2 (70W). Probably a "pick 'em" situation.

The Mutation is a good atty. Just note that the fashion of RDA's is very fast moving these days and you're going to see that those on the cutting edge will move on - just don't get discouraged when that inevitably happens.

28 gauge is the perfect general purpose wire - very versatile and easy to work with. You might find you want to try bigger and smaller gauges at some point, but having 28g around never hurts.

I'd recommend Koh Gen Do cotton over shiseido (I've tried a lot of both) - it's more raw and looks not to have been bleached (the shiseido I had was whiter and more homogenous). Opinions will vary on this.

As to whether or not you should get it all together, well, you need most of it at once to set up a dripping config. The subtank is the only "not like the others" item, but it gives you a tank - very useful for out and about. I'd say go for it if the budget allows.

Maybe I'll order 2 bottles of the same flavor in both 12 and 6mg. I like tobacco, desserts, and cereal flavors. I'm not a huge fan of straight fruit flavors. I got sick of some of them pretty quick like blueberry and melon. I've been vaping chocolate flavor juice for weeks now and still love it. Maybe I'll like fruit flavors with some cream flavor in it. I've read great reviews on that mothers milk juice. It sounds good, I want to try it.

I'm about to upgrade and get everything I need to last me awhile. A complete setup. I think I'm going to get an Istick 50w, Kanger Subtank mini, Mutation X V3, 28 gauge kanthol, shiseido cotton, and a couple bottles of juice. All together comes out to around $150. What do you think about getting all this gear at once?

Sounds good.

Right now I'm on 18mg but it kinda hurts my throat. I'm not sure if I want 12mg or 6. I was leaning more toward 6 because I'll be vaping alot more. My plan is to completely quit regular cigarettes. For a half pack a day smoker and 18mg hurts my throat, should I skip 12mg or not?

Depends on the wattage you are using.
I'm going to guess that you are vaping about 8 to 10 watts if 18mg is burning your throat.

Doing a bit of mixing yourself is usefull for checking different mg; I mean like taking some 18mg and diluting it with glycerin down to 9mg, then trying it to see if you are still getting a burning throat; if no improvement then it's not the nicotine causing the burning throat and that's important to find out.

....back to my product choices, I chose the Istick 50w for battery, sub ohm capabilities, size, and price of course. I chose the Subtank mini for tank size and the RBA option. I chose the Mutation x v3 for vaping at home, trying flavors, air flow options, and single dual or quad coil option. I know new products come out all the time and become outdated like cellphones but I'm hoping to have everything I need to be satisfied and quit smoking which is why I'm asking for assurance on these products. I figure I'll have so many different options, I can't go wrong.

I'm currently vaping on a little non variable ego type battery with a protank2 mini.

What is steeping juice?

that's when people mix a new eliquid from scratch using nicotine, flavorings, pg and vg;
after mixing together, the liquid needs to sit for a while to blend properly; from a few days to a few weeks depending on the mix.
some flavorings are oil based and some are water based, so I suppose the oil based ones take longer to blend.

I know the Istick 50w fires down to .2 ohms but is it ok to build that low on it? Anyone have any experience with this on the istick?

You can build that low and it can handle. Of course, your battery life will shorten.
But I'd suggest to start out not lower than 0.5 and go from there.

to get rid of some of that TH get a higher VG juice try a 70/30 ratio and it will calm down the TH some and it works very well with the sub mini, I have the same setup but I have the regular subtank on my istick 50 and its a great set-up you will be amased at the flavor difference coming from an ego and PT. Congrats and enjoy and pitch those stinkies you can do it:vapor:

Excellent set. No problems with .3 ohm coils here. I also suggest to buy Kuro Concept coil winder (or similar), helps a lot.
