Mamu, does the GG 510 adapter not fit the SD?

omg... I feel like such a dumb .... hahaha!!

Yes, the GG 510 adapter does fit the SD. I just tried it and it works perfect.

I had never mixed my e-cig parts, so I guess it's those simple things that escape me.

Thank you frog - you're me hero!!

I've been trying out a 510 adapter on one of my SDs - here is the review I posted on the TW forum:

I switched from 901 to a 901enabled Screwdriver because I wanted "batteries with testicles" (That took more than a few hours to drop off ;) ). I've been over the moon with the SD ever since. BUT I've been very interested in the Titan and its obvious popularity - however all the reports of short battery life (even with the manual) sounded similar to my "eunuch" 901s...

Enter the conquering hero!!!! Garry "Dibley Labs" Dibley offered to send me a 901 battery to Titan atomiser adapter in silver - an offer I couldn't refuse, so I bought a nice new black Titan atomiser.

Below is a picture of my two Screwdrivers - one with a 901 atomiser and a Titan cart, and one with Garry's adaptor and a Titan atomiser and cart:

It has been my view for some time the the "characteristics" of an e-cig reside in its atomiser (often let down by its batteries) so what follows is my review of the 901 vs the Titan using the same super-size manual battery and the same cart.

Review was done with run-in atomisers of both types with new carts freshly filled with 18mg TW Virginia and again with ecis (Boge/Dekang) 24mg Malboro juices

The 901 Screwdriver:

Lots of vapour, smooth draw (but not loose), lots of flavour, good hit - lovely all day use....

The Titan Screwdriver:

Lots of vapour (but to my surprise, no more than with the 901), smooth draw like the 901, noticeably less flavour, MASSIVE hit - with 24mg liquid it provided the TRUE "first ciggie of the day effect" that so many of us strive for!

Conclusion:

Firstly - the Screwdriver brings out the best from both atomisers! Don't waste your time with wimpy eunuch batteries

Secondly - I'm keeping the adapter (really well made and tested by Garry before he sent it to me) and I've ordered more Titan atomisers

Third - for taste the 901 atomiser wins hands down

Fourth - when properly "batteried up" both atomisers give excellent vapour

Fifth - for real throat hit and that first ... of the day feeling, a Titan atomiser on a Screwdriver delivers BIG TIME

Hope this has been of help

Massive thanks to Garry and "Dibley Labs"

Just be careful, fellas, that you don't drop your Screwdriver on its nose - like I've done... thrice 8-o Result = once, button flipped off (re-pop-on-able); twice, button snapped off (irretrievably broken)

The reason I am prone to drop my SD is that I became accustomed to clenching a 901 between my teeth whilst doing little chores. Because the SD is so heavy, a cart that doesn't fit tightly enough can result in the atomiser slipping off leaving one with an empty cart in the gob, and a rounded cart can easily slip out of the teeth because there's no ridge on it to grip.

I tried to glue a piece of eraser onto the stalk of one of my broken SDs but it didn't work, and the stalk has now become immovable, I musta let some superglue seep down :(

I'm wondering whether to ask Trog for yet another front end, or if he can mend my existing ones, but is it going to be throwing good money after the £135 bad? Maybe the SD just doesn't suit me :(

So here I am, struggling on with doddery old 901 batteries and a duff Janty Stick.

But I haven't had a cigarette :hubba:

I jumped off the fence and puchased a Black Mini ScrewDriver.

I am very pleased with my puchase.

Screwdriver = Satisfaction.

Kula.

Glad to hear you got it mate just got mine today as well! :D

Posted this over at SD forums :

Just got back from my hols, it actualy came the day I left but I had to leave at 5am so I missed it :(

Never wanted to come back off holiday so much!

Well pretty much I first found out about ecigs I bought the Health E-Cig from ebuyer, which I wouldn't recomend to anyone its junk.

Then I bought a 510 starter kit, I was really impressed with it, gave me a nice throat hit like my marlboro red's and lots of vapor I was also using the PCC with this since the battery is so BAD.

So after using it for a day this is what I think of the SD :

Very nice looking, fits nice in my hand pressing the button with my pinky.

Vapor is amazing, seems to make more than my 510 esp outside. I use TW juice and cut it to 28mg with VG.

Battery, I've been using it all day and its still going strong <3

Taste, all my juices taste better! Seems like the 510 was just burning the flavor away, the 901 atty isn't getting as hot to the touch at my 510 does.

Throat hit, really came to life now delivers a nice hit esp with menthol, at first was weak but after some use the atty came to life.

In summary if your sitting on the fence I say just do it, it will pay for its self with batterys, I have ordered 8 from deal xtreme and a new charger just incase, also picked up a 5 pack of attys from TW and 25 empty carts.

I absolutely love it, thanks guys :D

Forgot to mention I've been a week without a real cig now didn't have one all holiday which I think is amazing since I was smoking 40 a day Marlboro Reds

I did have a real smoke when I got home from holiday but afterwards I was not bothered, my juice taste so much better. I am all out of regular cigs now and I won't be buying another pack.

I love my new shiny SD :D

Hey all,

I am trying to wrap my head around the screwdriver and why it is better.

So far it appears the manual button and the huge battery are the advantages while still using a 901 atomizer, right?

So does a 901 with a smaller batter produce equal vapor just for not as long or is the big battery able to heat the coil much more efficiently thus providing better vapor for longer?

Considering first purchase and although I can't afford a SD right now, I would like to get an affordable one that isn't a slouch on vapor.

Thanks

Below is a reprint of my latest "review" on the TW forum - I think it answers your questions:

As promised, here it is!

As I said in the "True Test" thread, I switched from 901 to a 901enabled Screwdriver because I wanted "batteries with testicles" (That took more than a few hours to drop off ;) ). I've been over the moon with the SD ever since. BUT I've been very interested in the Titan and the Penstyle and their obvious popularity.

Enter the conquering hero!!!! Garry "e-cigcity" Dibley sent me a 901 battery to Titan atomiser adapter in silver - an offer I couldn't refuse, so I bought a nice new black Titan atomiser. From there I did the "901 vs Titan the True Test" review. BUT Garry then offered me a 901 battery to 801 atomiser adapter - again how could I refuse.

Below is a picture of my two Screwdrivers - one with a 901 atomiser and a Titan cart, and one with Garry's adaptor and a Titan atomiser and cart:

And here are the same two SDs with one equipped with Garry's other adaptor and a TW 801 atomiser and cart:

It has been my view for some time the the "characteristics" of an e-cig reside in its atomiser (often let down by its batteries) so what follows is my review of the 901 vs the Titan vs the 801 using the same super-size manual battery.

Review was done with run-in atomisers of all types with new carts of the matching type (ie 901/510/801) freshly filled with a mix of 18mg TW Virginia and 24mg EcoPure Rich Tobacco. The same SD was used with each atomiser type (I keep one "uncorrupted") with a freshly charged Spiderfire battery to give a 4+ volt vape

The 901 Screwdriver

Lots of warm vapour, smooth draw (but not loose), lots of flavour, good hit - lovely all day use....

The Titan Screwdriver:

Lots of vapour (but to my surprise, no more than with the 901), smooth draw like the 901, noticeably less flavour, MASSIVE hit - provides the TRUE "first ciggie of the day effect" that so many of us strive for!

The 801 Screwdriver

Very light draw, LOTS of rather cool vapour, good flavour, but less hit than the 901 - very long lasting with the huge 801 cart

Conclusion:

Firstly - the Screwdriver brings out the best from any atomiser! Don't waste your time with wimpy eunuch batteries

Secondly - I'm keeping the adapters (really well made and tested by Garry before he sent them to me) and I've ordered more atomisers of all types ;)

Third - for taste the 901 atomiser wins hands down

Fourth - when properly "batteried up" all atomisers give excellent vapour but the 801 produces CLOUDS

Fifth - for real throat hit and that first ... of the day feeling, a Titan atomiser on a Screwdriver delivers BIG TIME

Hope this has been of help

Massive thanks to Garry and www.e-cigcity.co.uk

Garry is a long-time member of the TW forum and an experienced and highly competent modder. He has only recently launched e-cigcity as a venture. He is a very small operation, so stock is down to how quickly he can make it - he tests everything very thoroughly so doesn't/can't just bash stuff out.

Got an SD as a total noob. Got taken care of very nicely by it, turned up real quick & on a saturday - probly never gonna look back. Fitted it with much longer wrist strap (actually a neck strap from a USB flash drive) tied a kinda noose type knot in it so it stays put on the wrist (like a Wii-mote strap) it's just fan-bloody-tastic! the manual button isn't ever a hassle to trigger.

This is the life.
