I have the EGO and the BOGO Carts and the Mega Carts.

both are a pain. Both make a mess after filling. The Bogo carts sometimes don't burn right and I can taste that cotton stuff burning.

Not happy really. Well I'm semi-happy with the mega carts. But man, this crap has a LONG LONG way to go.

So, being I'm the type that likes reliability and simplicity, I'm sure there are some guys out there that are producing a device that solves a lot of these problems. I know nothing about voltage really. I saw some variable voltage device out there, but no nothing about this stuff really.

So, if money was no object, what would you get? I'm thinking of stepping this up a bit. I haven't got off analogs completely. Just can't seem to make up my mind permanently, but I'm determined to make vaping my new addiction.

So what do you think? I don't do enough to have to fill daily, but I have no clue how much liquid I'm using because of the inability to see what's inside. Now I know about the tank system, but I'm not wanting to go that route either with the ego-T as that technology has a long way to go as well.

Thanks

You may want to consider the GoGo, search on here for what others are saying but it's mostly all good. This is my next purchase. I've been using Ego's w/1100mah batts and Smoketech dual-coil cartos and I'm pretty happy with it. I still find I'm topping the thing off a few times a day though. The GoGo should allow a no fuss vape all day long on one battery and one fill.

There is a huge learning curve with vaping, and everyone has different likes and dislikes. I like so many different flavors that I had a difficult time deciding what juice to fill my VapeMate with. I want a mini Reo, but that will present the same problem, what juice to use in the bottle! I went from carts to cartomizers to dripping, which I really like because I carry at least three different flavors around with me. It took forever for me to realize that I just don't really like 510 attys, I don't like high voltage and don't really want vary volt, and I'm still not 100% sure that my favorite mod now will still be my favorite mod in July.

It would be great if you could drive to the mod dealership and test drive every mod out there, and get to try out every mod with every different kind of atomizer. In the meantime, stop by the New England Vapers forum...

New England Vapers

There is a meet in Connecticut every month, not sure when the next one is but it will be posted in New England Vapers once the date is set. It's a great way to see different mods, and try some of them out. I'm working on organizing a meeting in Worcester, I was promised an answer by this Friday by one place, if you have any suggestions for a bar/restaurant that would be willing to let us have a meeting there, please PM me and I'll follow up on it.

Reos Mods

There are supposed to be more Reos on sale tomorrow night at 7:00. I tried to get one last Friday when they went on sale, but at 7:00 we were packing up my daughter at college in Worcester, so I couldn't complete the sale even though I managed to get a purple/purple mini in my cart!

Bah. When I first read the title of your post, I thought to myself "advanced is mutually exclusive to reliable in most cases". It depends on what you mean by "Advanced". The more stuff you throw into them, the more there is to go wrong.

The simplest solution is a direct-connect, all mechanical 3.7 volt mod. The only issues you can have are button issues, or connector. Batteries are replaceable so they don't count. If you want more voltage, you have to have some electronics to regulate it. More to break, but a necessity.

I enjoy 5 volt vaping. So, I just build em from scratch (box mods) and can fix em too. Thus, I'm never without options and don't have to worry about the "e-cig of the moment" latest-and-greatest hype/gimmick.

So the most reliable:
3.7 volt all mechanical (could include DIY mods).
5.0 volt DIY ... so you can fix it if you need to, or just build another one.

OTOH, if you must buy an e-cig, there is an argument that any mod you buy will probably have a 1 year obsolescence in that new features, better batteries, etc are on the horizon. Who knows, it may get run over when you cut the grass.... Others argue that the "cheap junk" units don't last long enough.

I think it is a crap shoot, no matter what you do. Plan on it lasting a year or two, and you won't be too disappointed with most higher quality mods. Or just bite the bullet, use the disposable stuff until the market settles down in a few years. I fully expect to see cig-sized (super-mini) batteries with 1800 mAh withing a couple of years. Maybe even higher volt options too. It's in the labs now, they can make them by hand. They just don't mass produce them yet.

Good Luck.

I have to go with the Go-Go. I've been using mine for about two months and it is the most consistent PV I've found in 17 months of searching. It has a 1300 mah battery with an amazing three ml bottom horizontal coil that doesn't burn or leak and there are never any dry hits. Any of the new PV's that have the big cartos with the horiz coils like the iGo, Go-Go or the new Echo are great. The new Echo has an automatic battery that works great and you can get it with either 1300 or 650 batteries. The Echo-e will have 510 threads but comes with a 2.3 ml carto. The regular echo has 901/808 connector and you can get the 650 with either auto or manual batteries. The Go-Go is the best and most proven as far as I'm concerned though. I really like the new generation automatic batteries on the Echo but I've only used it a few days so I'm not as sure how consistent it will be but all reports are positive and they advertise 100 refills per carto.

What I meant by advanced is advanced, meaning the latest technology that is proven to work. I don't have time to research how to build these things. Vaping comprises aproximately .005% of my life. I've been building / taking apart / fixing things my entire life but I don't even have the time to research how this technology works. All I know is I don't want to smoke cigarettes and I don't want to spend a 1/2 hour a day filling cartridges.

I have an idea of what dripping is, dripping liquid right on the atomizer. Beyond that I'm clueless. I bought a drip tip for my eGo and it does not even fit.

I think the industry itself is a BIG FAIL as far as assuming everyone is an expert at this. Products are sold and there's usually no description of what it's for and what it will fit. The tip I bought was for an eGo yet it doesn't fit. Probably requires another .......**g adaptor. I thought remote control cars was a black hole. This ..... is like black magic.

Then you get into batteries? Jesus Christ. What's the matter with just 1 battery? 3.7 volts or whatever it is. Now I am reading of milliamps and whatnot. Where does it end? This stuff would make anybody just want to go back and smoke analogs

But I'm not giving up just because I don't understand how this works. All I know is right now, I'm looking for what some would consider the best unit that is available that is RELIABLE and SIMPLE to operate and to be able to KNOW and SEE how much liquid remains in a cartridge and not to have to inhale burning fibers.

Now excuse the aggressive nature of my post, it's just ridiculous how many options there are. I would just drip if I knew the first thing about it besides "you drip liquid on the atomizer"

So I'll wait for some more responses and try to figure out what might be the best unit for me. Having to spill 1/2 bottle of $6 + shipping liquid every time I fill a cartridge is just ridiculous and having to dedicate a 1/2 hour a day to messing with this stuff just so you can use it the next day is also ridiculous. That's all I'm saying.

As partial as I am to a Darwin with a CE2, Vortex, or Dual Coil stuck on it....
You seem to me like someone that would be happiest with a top of the line bottom feeding mod.

You still have a bottle to fill and mount in the PV...and you'll have to pop batteries in and out from time to time...but at the end of the day it's a 'works every time' way to go about it. Less messing with dripping or syringes and stuff like that. Fill it up, pop in some batteries, and go...........

Also with the bottom feeder...there's no law that says you can't also use cartos and/or drip the old fashioned way when the mood strikes you.

The top of the line as far as electronics is the Darwin or Provari but it sounds like you'd be more interested in a bottom feeder. Just fill the bottle up go. To use you just press the bottle to feed the atomizer when needed.

They are only available in a box shaped form factor tho...not for everybody but they are easy to use. Rio is the only one I know of that make them in metal, it's all mechanical, no electronics. The rest are wood, then you have the budget plastic ones.

A few are also available in variable volt, the Ali, Monkeybox, Redskymods...Mark-IV VV and maybe a few others.

Dude, a drip tip is not built for a particular battery (like an eGo), but for a particular atomizer. The drip tip goes on the end of your 510 or 306 or whatever atty you're using instead of the cart. Sometimes its a pretty tight fit and you might have to clean the inside of the atomizer tube, but once its on, that's it. Just keep your juice around in a little bottle and put a few drops down the Drip Tip hole every now and again.

Its by far the easiest way to vape. Only drawback is you have to carry a bottle of juice around with you, but its either that or you carry your bottle of juice in your mod (like the REO) or in a tank or whatever.

You should also consider getting an eGo Tank atomizer, they are kind of like a mini version of a juice feeding mod and I find they are very easy to refill. Some people have had problems with burnt taste with them, although mine seem to all work quite well.

As far as vaping being fiddly, yup, you are definitely right. However, you have to look at it this way: You are participating in an industry that's in its infancy (E-cigs have only been around since 2006!), which makes you a pioneer! Its like you bought an Altair PC back in 1975 or an AMPs cell phone in 1987. One day in the future, e-cigs will be everywhere and you will be able to tell everyone that "I remember what it was like way back in 2011".

"Now get off my lawn, you danged kids!"

Thanks, yeah, I realize the drip tip fits on the atomizer. I figured since it said eGo drip tip, it would fit on the atomizers that came with the eGo but not the case. The diameter of the drip tip hole is too small to fit over the atomizer. Oh well.

Now I am watching vids on the reo and that looks like a good unit. However it seems like a marine effort trying to get a hold of one ha?

It is getting easier. Rob generally gets a few hundred of them ready for sale and puts them up in smaller batches for sale on a given day - they go very quickly. Register in advance at the reosmods site, and keep an eye on the "Stock Update Pricing" tab - he announces when the next bunch of units will be available (usually at 7PM eastern time on the day of the sale). Be logged in and ready at the designated time, and hopefully you'll be able to snag the unit you want. When viewing the mods via the "Shop" link, there will be an "Out of stock - notify me" button under each mod - you can choose to get an e-mail when the particular unit you're interested in becomes available. But the buying process is the same - you have to be ready. They do appear in the Classifieds section here from time to time - you'll see that they sell very quickly there, too. Buying a REO is a very low-risk proposition - if you don't like it for some reason, you can sell it quickly for about what you paid for it. And the sub-forum is great - many knowledgeable users to help you with any questions you may have.
