We've all heard the ANTZ argument that vaping is "not safe", or "not harmless", but what does that really mean?

In this article (generally positive), ACS CAN (the lobbying arm of Big Pharma front-group American Cancer Society) claims yet again ecigs aren't harmless, have no known benefits, but have many fearful risks.

Let's put "SAFE" in context. For example, more and more studies are finding that medical errors are killing hundreds of thousands per year
How Many Die From Medical Mistakes in U.S. Hospitals? - ProPublica

This particular study from 2013 goes as far as suggesting going to the doctor kills more people in the US than tobacco COntrol fundamentalists attribute to smoking.

vaping is SAFE enough, 95%-100% safer than smoking, and it looks like at least 95-100% safer than going to the doctor. Use these tools to fight the anti-vaping lunacy!

You are correct, DrMA..."Safe" is a myth. I have ridden a motorcycle for years (definitely not "safe") and an acquaintance of mine had ridden for over 35 years with no issues. A couple of years ago, after riding with a group from North Georgia up to Gatlinburg, TN, he went out to move his Harley under cover from an approaching thunderstorm. Coming back in after moving the bike, a tree was blown over by the storm, fell on him, and killed him. You never know.

But I do know this: if you stretch the mortality rate for humans over a long enough time time span, the ratio is 100%.

Another example of fundamental misunderstanding of harm-reduction from "health" parasites

How stopping at traffic lights could be slowly killing you: Expert warns they expose us to extra high levels of pollution | Daily Mail Online

These ......s claim that stopping at traffic lights kills more people than smoking without discussing that the alternative of running a red light poses much higher risk.

Parallel that to vaping, which may not be 100% safe in an absolute sense, but the alternative of continued smoking is at least 6000x more dangerous.

Safe. Hmph. The moment ovum meets spermium 'safe' is over ...

The rest boils down to relatively safe or relatively unsafe.

Seat belts, anti-skid braking systems, energy-absorbing car bodies and so on and so forth. Driving got progressively safer. But it certainly isn't totally safe.
Still plenty of traffic accidents. Yet, nobody is making any noises about banning motorized vehicles altogether.

Vaping got safer too. Now you can get mods that got the circuitry to handle high wattage sub-ohming....

Reminds me of a campaign ... named 'safer sex' , not 'safe sex' ... should tell the ANTZ something...
