Ardea means Heron in Latin (and is the name of our "farm" since we have resident wild Blue Herons here that drive my dogs crazy when the birds want to fish in the pond)
Gold is because when we moved here we raised Golden Retrievers.
ArdeaNewf just doesn't cut it so we never changed it, and besides, we still have Goldens.
