apparently the DSE601 is the ducks nuts

www.eastmall.net have them pretty cheap.

The only problem is that atomizers are very expensive.

I believe the mini pipes use the penstyle 808 atomizer - i really don't like this model. the battery life on the mini is also not very good from what I have heard.

I'm seriously considering a 601 for myself...

2ml juice capacity carts
900mah 3.7v battery
automatic operation
sweet looks

Please let me know how you go with it if you buy one!

Hubby seems to have no interest in e cigs, but I think if I got him a pipe he'd try it. Sooooo............ what are the good ones and where's the best place to shop for them?

How 'bout a battery MOD. There are lots of designs to choose from. None of them look much like an analog :) Would he go for a fancy wooden box mod?

Looked at Eastmall from what I can see the atomizers are only $2, unless I'm looking at the wrong thing. DSE601 wooden bowl atomizer?

Never seen one of thse up close, was wondering how easy they are to mess with as far as refilling, and how easy is it to flood the atty on these?

Not sure if he'd go for a mod ecig either. He used to smoke a pipe once in awhile is why I was considering trying this.

Ok I see now $39 for the atty. Wonder how long one will last

Okay Guys, I have always though that a man smoking a pipe looked sexy. I have wondered why more of you have not embraced this. It seems that the size and shape of a pipe would lend itself perfectly to a mod! As a woman I would never feel comfortable with a pipe, but you have the luxury of it looking cool instead of ludacris.

Chime in men.....why NOT more pipes?

i don't suggest you get the 601 e-pipe, I purchased 2 from eastmall when i first started vaping and they both died in a matter of hours, I also never got any resolution from eastmall, but thats a different story. Basically the issue with the DSE-601s is that they aren't sealed properly around the atomizer, so when liquid pools in there, it goes directly to the battery area, the circuit board, and of course the automatic switch. Honestly I recommend a mod, I personally advise the V3 since its small but packs a large punch (larger than any e-pipe would) and it looks great. Either that or a silver bullet depending on his size preference. I also recommend getting mega cartomizers as they will drastically reduce your maintenance and refills. What will draw your husband away is a faulty or difficult device, and in the end if he doesn't like it, the V3 is very female friendly (slender, small and elegant for a 6v mod), the SB is large, but I've seen women carry it in their purse just fine.

Prodigy V3 is at puresmoker.com

Silver Bullet is at Altsmoke.com

I'm actually in the process of making a 6v double barrel e-pipe, it will be a manual switch and will have 2 510 threadings, preferably for use with cartomizers. Both cartomizers will be seated under a delrin pipe mouthpiece and that entire area will be sealed off from the battery compartment which will use 2 rcr123a's. Currently my buddy is doing the wood work on the pipes and I'm doing the electrical setup, I'll have it posted in the modders forum when i'm done =)

Thanks for all the replies, would love to get him off the real ones. He tried my 510 and my ego and didn't like them at all. I'm surprised there aren't any pipe mods yet actually, there's so many people with the tools and ideas that keep coming up with cool stuff lol

Put a big honkin penstyle atty on the Phidius Woodimus and call it a pipe :)

More seriously, the big attys do vape more pipe like than the minis or super-minis.

Chime in men.....why NOT more pipes?

For me personally, a pipe doesn't fit my self image. I view pipes as grandfatherly.

I had been reading up on this for a while, and thought I would share the opinions that were shared with me by those who had used both the 601 e-pipe and the Ryuan Pipe. The 601 is cheaper to start out with and while the atty is fairly new produces a bit more vapor, but the attys are fairly speratic and croak just as easily as regular ecig attys. The Ryuan on the other hand will cost 2x (or more if you get it from the wrong place) as much as a 601 but the attys are on average lasting about a year. Now, that said the sample of Ryuan Pipe owners is very small due to its high price tag, but all those I have talked to have stated that it is well worth it. Its more consistent, long-lived, and in the end cheaper than a 601 given the average number of atty/bowl replacements.

Again, these are not MY opinions. These are other folks opinions I have read in some of the comparison threads in the 601 sub forum. I am just relaying them here. Hope it helps!
