coils are in it?
Certain metals, such as nickel or titanium, change their resistance based on temperature. By measuring this change in resistance, one can estimate the temperature of the coil and thus increase or decrease power to the coil so it stays at stable temperature.
Kanger has two different types of OCC coils for the subtank. One is a regular Kanthal that should be used with variable voltage or wattage devices. The other is Ni200, which should only be used with a temperature control setting. The reason is Ni200 coils have a much lower resistance than Kanthal, so using one in VV/VW mode would likely ruin a Ni200 OCC coil.
