I just got a N-Joy starter kit two weeks ago from a truckstop with 10 of the regular cartridges. A week later I got another box of carts of the same flavor. It was easy to see that the cost would actually be more then smoking because I was using at least two a day and getting into a third one on most days. I saved the carts and ordered the RY4 juice, received it yesterday and it is so nasty. Tried straight juice and found it tasted like burnt rubber, not at all the caramel and vanilla flavor that was indicated.

I cut it by 50% with glycerin and added vanilla and almond flavors thanks to this forum, but it is still pretty nasty stuff. I really enjoyed the flavor of the N-Joy carts. does anyone know if there is a flavor that would taste the same or at least much like it?

I am going to have to smoke this crud for two weeks as I cannot spend more for this then I would on analog. I don't really want a weird flavor like fruit but can anyone suggest a good mild flavor so next time will not be a waste of money? If I had to vap this full time I think I might go back to analog.

I also have an njoy but the carts are wayyy too expensive.

The juice/taste thing is really subjective but I like the 555 and the ry4. To me, the 555 doesn't have as much "sweetness" as the ry4.

I've also used up quite a bit of the "Marlboro" flavors. To me they don't have as much sweet flavor as the others. It's more of a peppery/smokey flavor.

It's a pisser ordering something you don't like...

Maybe you could try a sampler?

Where did you get the RY4 from? Most forum members seem to like RY4. It may be that your juice supplier is the problem. My two favorites are Riskee and Cola from puresmoker.com. The flavor is smooth with both of these and not too strong. I'm assuming that you washed out the cart filler before you refilled with liquid and that you have cleaned your atomziers. Quite a few members like e-smokey-treats.com liquid as well as Totally Wicked. Another suppler whose liquid is highly regarded is myvaporstore.com. Rob at Liquidxpress and Phil at e-smokey-treats both provide phone numbers so you can call them and talk about what you are looking for and get some personal advice.

Well... buying e-liquid is a cheap way to go. But not all want to use just liquid; and besides, if there aren't sample-juices to try first (a few ml for a few dollar at most each) it can be costly to try out e-liquid also (especially if you don't like them, like has happened to you with RY4 - and I know what you mean as to the taste, not my favourite either ;) )

What I would like to suggest, next to buying e-liquid samples wherever possible, is to try the Janty-cartridges. It only costs a few dollar to get a pack of 5 of those; and they do have a reasonable amount of different tastes in catridges (try cappuccino for instance, many like that - but much more choice there).
I find this is a good alternative way of 'buying samples' - try a pack, if you like it then go buy e-liquid for either topping off or complete supply.
I'm not keeping up with what US-sites, other then Janty which I happen to know, offer actual cartridges - but maybe there are more on internet that are just as cheap?

Edit: even if there aren't cartridges that fit your particular device, it's still worth buying a box, then squeezing the liquid out of the cartridges into a bottle... leaves you with about 5 ml for just a few dollars - cheaper then buying at least 10 ml for double or more of that price.

Thanks for the responses, I got the RY4 at Myvaporstore.com. It is possible that it is just a bad batch or something, but it is so gross I cannot add enough of any flavor to get past it. I really liked the regular NJoy flavor but They have lost their mind about the price, two dollars for a .32 ml cart is just crazy.

I stoped and got a couple of Lorann flavors and the butter rum seems to nutralize the rubber like taste but I am not crazy about it either. The English toffe seems to nutralize most all of the taste but plain isn't so good either as it does leave a strange after taste. I suppose that I will have to try out one of the assorted bunches. I would have gotten the Riskee juice instead of the RY4 but he was out at the time. I am really unsure now because they are both described as the same flavor. My favorite flavor has allways been Vanilla and wish the RY4 was actually like it said.

Time to go online shopping I guess.

Re the RY4
I tried it a while ago (Royal Smokers) and did not think much of it, No substance, Hit or really any flavour, definately no caramel that others describe.
It was not nasty or burnt rubber just not anything.

I would also suggest you try Janty or PureSmokers liquid.
Janty comes in 10ml bottles so they are not mega expensive for tasting.

I just got my first e-cig today and from reading a lot of peoples suggestions, I got an extra bottle of the RY4. Blech, wished I hadn't. It is very foul tasting and smelling to me. That was a waste. I guess I'm going to have to find some sort of sampler to come up with something I like. The RY4 tastes and smells like burning rubber to me. I think I prefer something sweet so I'm going to look into the vanilla or something similar.

That could be the taste of primer on the atomiser. If so, it'll wear off after a couple of days. RY4 should taste kinda sweet and caramely.

Taste is really subjective. I couldn't handle the taste of the NJOY carts although many people like it. It tasted too much like the nicotine gum or those nicotine inhalers. I got some vanilla from e-smokeytreats, washed out one of my NJOY carts and filler, refilled with the vanilla juice and I'm happy as a clam! For me the vanilla is really subtle but, more importantly, that nicotine gum taste is gone.

I did manage to get the RY4 to a usable state. I used three parts RY4 and 1 part glycerin (it is Wilton brand I got at hobby lobby) and then added about 1/2 cc of Loranns English Toffee flavor(also from Hobby Lobby) to equal about 5 ml. The Toffee flavor was just added to taste but seems accurate enough. Somehow it removed the burnt taste and actually taste kind of caramelly. The glycerin was added to lower the nic from 18 to around 14, but it does add a slightly sweet taste. The glycerin and the flavoring were only 6.00 for both so it won't be a total loss, good thing to cause that 5 ml filled 15 of the mini carts and I will probably get another 100-150 cart refills out of the rest. If you got a big bottle you may want to try it.
