Go to steam engine and plug in 24G. It tells you the size in mm. Multiply by 2 and plug that back in and it should change the gauge automatically to give you your answer.
Oh, a twisted coil is going to be a higher resistance than a straight coil of the same circumference. Its because there is a lot more wire used in a twisted coil.
